At the end of part 2 the discussion was about hotels, I don't know many hotels in Barcelona (I stayed in apartments when I worked there), but one of my favourites and a really cheap one is Hotel Cortes, where the ramblas start and maybe 50 meters away from Plaça Catalunya. Here's the tripadvisor advice for it:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...el_Cortes-Barcelona_Catalonia.html

The location of this hotel is fantastic!!! Maybe you should consider it!!

And some news for Braulio (Rootsair), your Air Nostrum flight with business class service will now be operated by the LCC Clickair Big grin Big grin Sorry for that!!! Clickair has just published their schedule and is selling tickets for all their flights and destinations for just 5 Euro!!! I will post something about that in the "clickair pictures thread" in Civil-av.

Just if you are interested, the Iberia routes that will be operated by the new LCC Clickair are:

Barcelona to Geneva, Lisbon, Zurich and Sevilla
Valencia to Paris Orly and Rome Ciampino
Sevilla to Paris Orly and Barcelona.

it does indeed look very good. Alpharooms.com quotes €112 for 2 nights, single room. It's non/partiatialy refundable tho. Anyone found a better rate?

Too bad Clickair doesn't start flying to AMS, as it would have been a cheap flight, but alas, you can't have it all.

Yirina/Zruda, what are you doing hotel wise?

Yes, you found a good rate! I just called the hotel in Barcelona and they quoted 70 Eur for a single room (1 night) and 102,50 Eur for a double room (1 night as well)

Well, Transavia and Vueling are other LCC carriers on the route, but I guess they don't have such low fares.

HV doesn't have good times for me, Vueling is €178. I'll non-rev my way to BCN, giving me the option of KL, HV and IB.

thanks a lot for your ideas, much appriciated

True, both have advantages, the advantage of being in the city is the fact that you can walk to your hotel in the evening, not bothered by taking a cab or public transport.

btw; you still owe me a mail with photos  Wink.

So, where are you finally staying? In Sant Boi or in Sant Just Desvern?

I think both locations are not really convenient if you want to visit the city centre, a taxi will be necessary to get there from central Barcelona.

I know, but I think we are minimally 3, so ´ll pay the taxi together...As I count, its still cheaper...

I never been there, but I think, airport is not so far from centre in Barcelona? For example in Kuala Lumpur its about 80 km, but this is not so big time wasting to stay in hotel closer to airport in BCN? I plan only sleep in hotel, most of the time I wish to use for spotting or sightseeing Smile
