It's been a while since the original accident but I thought I would plass on an update for you all.

For those of you who don't recall this thread, which I would have restarted if it hadn't been archieved

The Cougar Ace is a car carrier that rolled unexpectedly a couple of months ago out in the north pacific.

All 22 crewmembers where rescued from the vessel in one of the longest rescue operations ever conducted by the AkANG and USCG. One Salvor was killed after falling from the ship.

Anyway at the time there was some speculation if the ship and it's cargo where write-offs and on their way to Davy Jones Locker.

Well on the 1st the Cougar Ace successfully righted was taken under tow for a 10 day voyage to Portland where permanent repairs will be made to the ship. Only 41 of the approximate 5000 Mazda cars on board shifted from their tie-down points. No word on how many cars got salt water baths.

Still a pretty good sight to see the boat upright again.

I'm sorry to hear about this.

I am glad that most seemed salvagable. Knowing the way companies work, I think we 'all' would have gotten that bill one way or the other.
