I have many other resources, thank you very much. Can we not use GE to verify, though? Especially since the pictures shown here may not match the diagrams due to age...

Looks like Polson, MT 8S1
No Google Earth Required. Maybe, though, since I wasn't around at the beginning, someone could reiterate the rules. If we're not allowed to use resources like GE, then I humbly request that all the pics are of entire overviews, instead of the GE-only close-ups of a taxiway and partial runway. If it's allowed, then carry on - this way is harder and more entertaining, IMHO.

The point was is that we arent supposed to use ANY resources. The game was that somone posted a screen cap of an aiport on GE or had an overview of one and posted it. You were then supposed to do it without looking it up.....

Okay, I apologize for using resources contrary to the rules that were probably posted 10 threads ago. But seriously, some of the pics are impossible without resources - unless you've seen the overhead before, using the same resources that are against the rules. So, what's the point, then? I can ID most of the majors in the country and many of the minors, too, by looking at a full shot, but with a half-glimpse of a taxiway and a roof of a hangar it's impossible.

Where did it say that? If it's going to be a matter of pure guesswork you'll have 100 posts AAA no AAB no WER no XYZ no etc etc etc unless someone is very familiar with an airport layout. Great way to lose interest.

I did some checking back into the first thread and it didn't say anywhere that you couldn't use GE, in fact usnseallt82 talked about using it within the first few guesses with no objections. No harm, no foul, but if we all decide to go forth with new rules, please post them loud and clear. Gotta go play a gig, be back later.

That is what I was refering to. I must have misread it as I read it a week ago... My apologies to you and Oly720man. But to me, I still feel it makes the game pointless if you need to look up the airport on google earth.

Perhaps. However, as was mentioned, we probably wouldn't have had 2 threads, let alone 9. Besides, how do you really know if someone is using GE or not?
It's way too hard to look at every singe North American airport every time anyway...so you do have to look for any clues in the photo that you can find.
Anyway, we seem to have been having fun with it

Well, hey, it wasn't on the list and I'm not about to post the rinky dink airfield in the middle of no-where Alaska - at least give you guys a fighting chance.

Shit, you won't hear me complain. Better to have a chance with it than trying to find Bob's asscrack strip in the middle of an Indian reservation.
