IMO France and the US had been working together very well in the current enviroment. When Senator John Warner of VA went to Afghanistan he was shocked at the number of French troops there, he didn't expect many considering the flack that was coming from some uninformed sources in the US. France is far ahead of us in the battle against terrorists, in so much that the US has join the operation center in Paris. On a personal note, never been treated badly in France. As with any friends there will be disagreements from time to time.
