Ideas For Surprising Girlfriend On Flight?

Hey everyone,

My girlfriend is heading to the UK for several months to work and I was wondering if any of you have any creative ways of saying "good bye" for her flight.

Her famiy is very persistent on taking her to the airport so the tricky part is that it's not possible for me to do the typical "stand with the family at the check-in area with a hug good-bye" idea. Here's the flight details.

She's flying from YVR to LGW this Sunday evening on Zoom. It would be cool to leave a little message for her at the check-in desk or to even get the in-flight crew to make a little hello for me during the flight or something. I'm stuck for ideas and crazy about this girl... anyone have any ideas that might help me out? Thanks.

Oh, these never turn out well. Just say good-bye and let her go. She'll be back soon enough.  Smile

If you got some coin, get on the damn plane yourself and find her in flight. That'd be a well good idea if you could afford it. Now as for talking to crew about leaving something on board for her, I'm almost sure they won't because of security concerns, however, perhaps if you were able to talk to a flight attendant or flight deck crew member before the flight when they checked in you could give them some money to pick up something for her, through the security checkpoints, and they could leave it on her seat. I just personally doubt that they would be willing to transport anything through security for you. Best of luck though my friend!

I seriously doubt you could get the flight crew, check-in crew or any crew member to take things past security for you. I wouldn't trust any flight crew member that I don't know to take your money so they could purchase something for her past security to give to her in-flight. Its best to purchase her something before she heads to the airport and give it to her when you say goodbye to her.

With today's security climate, some ideas at the airport or on flight may not be possible. Perhaps you could go out to dinner at a nice resturant the night before and give her then an item of jewelry (not an engagement ring!), like a simple necklace with a small heart pendent hanging on it. Tell her to open it up after she boards her flight. Probably could find one in silver for maybe $50-60 at a local discount or department store if a good sale. It would be a little of part of you with her while she is away.

That's the kind of shit you only do if you're are married or have a very strong long-term relationship with someone. The last thing this girl wants to see on her plane or at her destination is the guy she just said goodbye to. Then, she's not able to settle herself in and establish a routine until you are out of the picture...again. Do you think she doesn't have plans of her own? If she wanted to see you more, she would've stayed longer. If she wanted you their, she would've asked you to come.

You are all doomed, and just be thankful that I'm not billing you for this advice.

Oh dear god man!!! If a man likes someone this much, and is going to buy jewelry, don't do it cheap!!! Get something at least half decent, not $50-60!!!
In fact, come to think of it, if you're going to buy ANY jewelry, for yourself or others, don't be a tightass!!!

If you look at the initial poster's profile, he is a 21-25 age student. Probably doesn't have a lot of money for anything extragavant. Besides, it's the thought that counts, not how much you spent on that thought.
