This guy shouldn't be out unsupervised...

Eric King has been reunited with his car — seven months after FORGETTING where he parked it.

Absent-minded Eric, 57, left his black X-reg Ford Focus in a space in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, last February so he could walk into the town centre.

But when he had finished his sightseeing trip he couldn’t remember the name of the residential road he had parked the car in or where it was.

He eventually got it back when it was reported abandoned.

Guess they have to be modest.

An old boss of mine took his car a short distance out of town one lunchtime to pick up a sheet of glass. Having done so he found himself browsing shop windows all the way back to the office.

Come 5:30pm, he went to the car park to find his car wasn't there and immediately ran back to the office exclaiming to any remaining staff that his car had been stolen. He called the police, they attended his home later that evening and took a crime report during which it suddenly dawned on him he'd left his car in the glass shop car park!

Needless to say, Branch Manager or not, he was the brunt of many jokes for weeks to come, not least of which the "lost" notice on the notice board with a "found" notice next to it ... a real p**s take!

Once I 'lost' my Spanish rental car in a huge multi-storey car park in Mijas in Spain. I spent fifteen sweaty, panicky minutes looking for the bloody thing until I realised I was looking on the wrong parking level.

Edit: grammar

Tsss... I got in to a car that looked exactly like mine (brand, make and colour). Only problem was that I had sold mine three weeks earlier. Guess my head was at a different planet that day.

It's easily done!

Me and mate had lost our rental BMW 330i in a carpark close to 3rd Street in Santa Monica. We were such morons, we had actually come in a different way to where we left and didn't realise it. The car was the opposite end of the car lot but we walked up every story looking for it to realise that it was the other end of each floor!! It's not funny and we literally did shit our pants, since this was our last night in LA and all of our camera stuff was in the boot along with a few $100's of dollars worth of retail shopping!

Cheers,

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer, Jerry, Elane and whats-his-name go to the mall, and Kramer can't remember where they parked in the garage! That is one of the few episodes I ever watched.

If I owned a Focus, I believe I would lose it too. Coincidentally, my mom has one, and is borderline Alzheimer's. I'm waiting on the day she loses hers.

I sometimes suffer from premature senility in parking lots, so when I leave my car, I note the section sign, note where it car is as to landmarks (like in a mall, the closest stores, at 90 degree angles), write down the section sign on a ticket (like in lots, parking garages). Sometimes I get a little bewildered, especially if parked in a hurry or a place I often go to, but usually I find my car quickly.

I once parked on a street in Manhattan, walked several blocks and forgot where the car was parked. After searching for an hour I flagged down two cops and told them what happened. They asked me to get in the back seat and they started driving down all the streets for about half an hour until we found the car. The whole time they were making fun of me.
