One of the most interesting match-ups for Saturday appears to be California and Arizona State. Both ranked but both have questions, and neither has posted impressive wins yet (unless you count California win over Portland State   .
I dont want to see the word "Michigan" again. And SenorCarnival, I would like to once again appologize for my innaproprote comment towards you. I am sorry and ashamed.

It's ok, we all get carried away sometimes. It's cool that you're at least able to admit when you crossed that line of fiery discussions into name calling, a mistake I have also been guilty of. Calling you someone's butt-buddy probably wasn't wise, and for that, I'm sorry.

agreed. i got carried away as well. seeing a few of the guys on the football team these past couple days, i realize they have moved on, i should do the same.

Florida as a 23.5 point favorite over Kentucky at home....hmm, I'll have to think about that one. Gone are the days of us throwing 70+ points on the board against these yahoos every year.
We'll win given it is a night game at The Swamp and the place will be rocking. I just hope we don't let the Tennessee win go to our head and start looking forward to Alabama the following week.
Can Brady Quinn recover? Can the ND defense stop anyone? I'm just not sure. MSU's coach is on the hot seat. A win might help cool him off for another week.

Can the Dawgs throw 3 shutouts in a row against the Buffs? I think they just might do it.
Unlikely, Crosby will bail us out and drill a long FG and we'll get at least 3 to extend our games in which we've scored streak to 214 games, which is one of the longest current streaks in I-A...and yes, thats all the optimism I have for this week lol

Quoting DeltaGator (Reply 5): I think Cal will be exposed for the crappy team they are with this one. I'm unimpressed by them.
It sounds like the only game you have seen Cal play this year was against Tennessee. In week two, Longshore threw for 300 yards with 4 TD's and NO INTs, Desean Jackson, Cal's Sophomore wide receiver has 5 TD's, tied for second in the nation. Last week against 1-AA Portland State, Marshawn Lynch rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on just six carries and the offense put up 42 points in the first half. Both of Cal's most recent games have been solid performances, so this game against Arizona State should be a close one.

Just a tip. When you are arguing how good your team is don't use stats from a game against a 1-AA team to try and prove it. You pay for those teams to visit you so you can beat them. Stats from those games are suspect in my mind.
As for my original observations I still stand by them. Minnesota is not a great team and while you did good against them I would suspect as much and we've already covered the Portland State game. I just don't think Cal is a very good team this year and I suspect they will prove it on Saturday. If they win then I suppose I might be wrong but we'll just let it play out on the field.

Quoting KingAir200 (Reply 11): Wisconsin comes into the Big House this weekend, hopefully they'll fly back to MSN disappointed.
The fact that Mario Manningham and Mike Hart are sophomore and junior, respectively, is scary. After looking at both team's depth charts for this week and some stats, I have to admit that as much as I've always had a soft spot for Bucky, I don't see this game being close in any way, shape or form. Line up a vet in Ann Arbor because Bucky is probably getting mangled by a wolverine on Saturday.

Obviously...that's why I said right out in front that they were 1-AA. Stats against them need to be taken with a grain of salt.

If Minnesota is not a good team, then what is Colorado? They lost to 1-AA Montana State at home, and ASU bumbled past them. Their QB went 21/37 against them with 2 INT's. As he said,"the offense played terrible."

Florida better work out any kinks left against UK and get ready for the hardest 4 weeks in college football ahead of them: Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Georgia. If they post 4 wins after that, I see no reason why they cant be legitimate contenders for a National Championship.

I think we're all in agreement, even USAFHummer, that Colorado is the definition of sucky right now.

Hell yeah! I've been pleasantly surprised by the play of the ffensive line that is so young. Tennessee was tough but if we get past that Murderer's Row in 4 consecutive games (Of course UGA fans will bitch that we get the week off before playing them as usual) then I don't see how we couldn't be title contenders at that point as well. And we would still have South Carolina and HalfAssU to play to solidify that fact.

He would go over like a poot in an elevator with the old Baptist alumni at Jordan-Hare but man would it be funny as Hell to see. I could see him leading the student section in a rousing rendition of Barnacle Bill the Sailor.

Don't be so sure. I've seen a very full house for Carlin in Auburn and it takes thousands for that; a Valby show is, hmmmm, more intimate. A few hundred will do. Of course, once some of the locals figured out what was going on he'd certainly attract some protesters the next time out.

Dont forget that the LSU and Auburn game are on the road too! The schedule makers really weren't on our side this year.

LSU is Homecoming this year and not on the road. Still the toughest schedule in the country this year despite that.
Well folks, how did your teams fare?
Florida won which is good though we struggled a fair bit at the beginning. Notre Dame either made a great comeback or MSU just fell flat on their faces. I'm still up in the air on the ND defense as it didn't look incredibly good.
I stand somewhat corrected on California as I expected them to look like a bunch of buffoons and they kicked ASU's butt.
