OK...well, the Falcons aren't playing until Monday night (on ESPNHD which is pretty cool) but everyone else is going starting in two or three hours.
ATL is going into the Superdome against a very motivated long time rival against whom we've had some of our most exciting games in franchise history.
Our run defence should have its hands full with Reggie Bush, but I think that if we can keep him contained that our new found defensive speed in the safety and both corners will keep them from running the short pass effectively and thereby prevent them from loosening up their ground game.
Our offence should be able to run on these guys, which will keep their d on the field and ours off of it....which is always good.
I'm hoping for a good game, but obviously I'm pulling for my Falcons.....
Who's making predictions we can re-read at the end of the thread?

Quoting DL021 (Thread starter): everyone else is going starting in two or three hours.
How provincial.
One of the best matchups today is the night game: Denver at New England. Denver always gives us problems, and today is likely no exception. However, Plummer is not really on his game lately, and it's a home game for the Pats. So I'm predicting a squeaker win for NE, 24-23.

Bucs go to 0-3 . Simms and the defense did seem to wake up half way through the second period...still, tnis could be a verrrry long season...
Good luck to the Pats tonight...

Quoting Dragon-wings (Reply 9): Giants and the Seahawks just started a few minutes ago. I will come back later with hopefully good news for the Giants.
45 seconds before the half and Seattle scores.
0-35 now, Seattle.

Quoting L-188 (Reply 13): I was really expecting a much tighter game.
Me too. I was not expecting the Giants to play this bad. Looks like we will have to see if they can make another 2nd half comeback if the Giants have any chance in his game.

1st and 10 at the Rams 18 with 1:50 to go and down by two. What does Kurt Warner of the Cardinals do. Fumble for the 8th time in 3 games. Rams win.
Okay, someone explain to me how a team can change its mind about accepting/declining a penalty. Rams punted to end the game, Cards off-sides, and fair catched the punt. Rams declined penalty, it was announced that way to the whole world. Cards go out to attempt a 75yard free FG attempt, then the Rams changed their minds and accept the penalty. Would have love to see it Rackers could have hit a FG from 75 yards out. (Free kick means no defense period)

I will have to give the Giants credit with those two interceptions in the 4th quarter.
But most of the comeback I think we can contribute to Seattle running their second-team from halfway through the 3rd quarter on.
I have concerns for next weeks SEA vs. Bears game in Chicago. It would not surpise me to see SEA go into their bye week 3-1 after that game. Especially if Alexander can't get out of his funk....he was one of those that sat out the last third of todays game.

I watched Seattle beat up on the Giants . . . . after the NASCAR Race . . .
Didn't get the Green Bay game here . . . unfortunately . . . and they WON! (Was Favre on the sidelines with an injury?? ). Of course, they were up against the Lions . . . so it's not as if they were playing against a 'real' football team
Favre reached a milestone - 400 touchdown passes . . . equalled only by Marino. Congratulations Brett!

Browns found yet another way to lose. Up 14-3 in the 4th, they lose 16-14. They had a chance to ice it with like 3 minutes to go, but Charlie Fry was picked off in the end zone, as he got clobbered when he let go of the ball. Heck he was only sacked 9 times in the game.
Frye had a terrific first half, and showed that he's got the talent to be an NFL QB, but if he doesn't have a line than can remotely protect him, and a D that plays well-until it has to-they're gonna fight it out for the top pick in the draft next year.

Simms went to hospital right after the game and evidently had his spleen removed after serious dehydration and other issues. He came back in the 4th quarter after being taken from the field in the first half and led a "nearly" comeback...
Now that's tough...playing until parts of your body fail......he's got guts (albeit not as many as this morning...sorry, but he'll find that funny when he recovers).

Steelers went down , not really a sup rise the Bengals are good. Scary in the first half for Bengal fan , Carson Palmer fumbled 3 times and the Bengals recovered !!! all 3
Big Ben did not look sharp at all, he had time to operate but just slow with the decisions. Running game was blasting ,Parker ran for 133...
It was not a really convincing win for the Bengals but it was a good win for them. Look forward to the rematch.

He was probably "hypovolemic" which some people misinterpret as dehydration. Obviously he had a ruptured spleen, which bleeds like hell and can't be repaired unlike a lacerated liver or most other internal bleeding.
Best wishes to Simms for a speedy recovery. We'll see him in 4-6 weeks if he's lucky.
I didn't watch the Browns game (too busy studying in the library) but I did watch that mess of a Vikings-Bears game. What a sloppy piece of crap. Awful until Grossman's first-ever 4th quarter touchdown pass, and that won it. Oh, and the coverage pretty much sucked, too. They stopped counting penalties after the first half, according to the stats they posted at the end of the game!

26 Falcon84: On Nov 12th, going to ATL and DL021 and I are gonna watch the Falcons kick the shit outta the Browns, although I think the Browns will be a little mor
27 Falcon84: Correct: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...n.bucs.simms.ap/index.html?cnn=yes Charlie Frye came close-although in his case he almost had his hea
28 CO7e7: I was there.... it was a good game... until the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter! But i think Frye and Edwards stepped up today! GO BROWNS!
30 L-188: I doubt it will be that quick, maybe add another couple of weeks to that, and even then he will be pretty green since we won't have been practicing d
31 DeltaDC9: Da Bears won again. 300 yards passing is still hard to get used to.
32 Falcon84: So did Winslow. If he can learn to keep his trap shut, he is gonna be big-time. He catches everything thrown his way, and that's a fact. If they can
33 DeltaGator: Sad but true. Thank goodness we won yesterday no matter how ugly it was. Finally a Florida Gator QB who is going to do good in the pros. If Rex stays
34 DeltaDC9: I just hope Rex "Glassman" proves more durable than old Jimbo did and losses that nickname!
35 DeltaGator: I don't ever remember him being hurt so much at Florida but rather in Spurrier's doghouse on a daily basis. Here's to him staying healthy and Da Bear
36 DeltaDC9: Thanks man, Rex is a Hoosier, so it should be no suprise he is a great athlete. He is from the Southern Indiana too, just like Griese, Mattingly, Bir
37 FutureSDPDcop: The Raiders did awesome. They didn't lose. However, like in most of their other games, they didn't play this week.
38 AirCop: A bye in the 3rd week of the season, that really makes sense, they should let them play a month before the bye's begin.
39 NeilYYZ: Frackin' Steelers lost again, something is just not right with Roethlisberger. I hope he picks up his socks, but it's not going to be a good season wi
41 DL021: AARRRGGGHHH.....wasn't being the leading NFL donor to the Katrina rebuilding effort enough? ($1.1 million from the Falcons alone leading by example).
42 PHLBOS: Sadly, no squeaker this time: Denver 17, New England 7. Oh well, at least the Eagles won their game against the 49ers 38-24.
43 Tom in NO: The Saints played easily their best game since our sole playoff win vs the Rams back in..........whenever it was! This place was rocking for the past
44 Ordryan28: bear down, Chicago Bears! (going to need to play a great game to beat seattle...) ..but, i think/hope they will do it
