Well, with the end of the first week of University this week, i've decided to accompany chris sharps (Chris78Cpr) to the annual F**k a fresher ball at the University Of Gloustershire... The theme is Gangsters and Molls from the 1930's. I've got a pinstripe suit and trilbee sorted out, along with black & white shoes...!

For those who have been to Uni/College what other events were run in Freshers Week? Any Stories to tell?

Such a nice gentlemently attitude toward sex. Just make sure the 1st year you have sex with doesn't have AIDS, Herpes, HPV, Hepititis or any other nasty sexually transmitted diseases, or you don't have it either to give them those gifts.
Oh, and make sure she isn't drunk and not able to give her unimpeded consent to sex, or else it is rape.
Grow up.

Mellow a bit! Like it or not, sex is a part of university life, kind of like life itself really.

What the hell is freshers week?

If you need an excuse to have sex, you shouldn't be having it.

At UCLA, during the first weekend of move-in, there was Black Sunday. Basically almost every fraternity would throw a party open to everyone. Imagine hundreds, hell I wouldn't be surprised if over a thousand students spilling into the streets. Both times I went, the police had to go and close off the streets and parties one by one, with riot gear, just in case. Too bad it's been put on hiatus for a few years because of underage drinking, and thugs from outside the university coming down to party and make trouble.

I go to the Uni of Gloucestershire as well (also first year), although I will not be able to go to the ball as I work on Saturday nights at Tesco. Which course are you on?

Some of the hostile comments are bit over the top.

Eighteen year olds behave like eighteen year olds. Why the throwing of hands up in horror?

I remember Freshers Week perfectly well. It seems it hasn't changed much.
