I wish I lived out west so I can sample a lot of these apparently fine microbrews, although "Milwaukee's Best" and "award" should never be in the same sentence... Don't know what the judges were doing when they gave that out...

So beer connoiseurs, anyone have any experience with some of these lesser knowns?

PBR is alright. Ice House is terrible (even when its free). Mickeys is alright when playing Edward 40 hands, beyond that it's no good. Unless you are short on the $.

Hey this is the most important thread going:
I have experience with two: Eel River Brewing in Fortuna, CA, and several times to the Old Dominion Brewing in Ashburn VA.

The latter puts out an excellent brew - Tupper's Hop Pocket Ale.

Well, it seemed to be the states but the problem is easily cured-annex Canada to Texas.

Texas Ranger: Welcome to Canada County, Texas, Ma'am. Now buckle up and drive safe, and y'all have a nice day, y'heah?

I'm sipping on a Sleeman Cream Ale 64 right now.....

I'm disappointed my favorite locals didn't medal this year. I would have thought Terrapin and Sweetwater would have made some noise this year. In fact, not a single Georgia microbrewery won a medal this year. We hadn't been shut out in years. Our state's best year was 2002 when Sweetwater won Small Brewery of the Year a Gold for their Exodus Porter and a Silver for their Sweetwater 420 and Terrapin won a Gold for their Rye Pale Ale.

I'd love to go to the GABF, I think I may have to pencil it in for next year.
