In trend with the recent What to do in ... threads I'd thought I'd start my own.

So, me and a friend are off to Berlin the week before Christmas for a few days. We hope to catch some of the Christmas markets, but what else is there to do in Berlin?

Adam

All you cheapskates who won't go and buy a £3.99 travel guide from WHSmith!  Wink

Well Berlin, I really like the place. I'll say you should definitely go see The Reichstag, The Berlin Wall, Check point Charlie and then just generally have a good walk about because there is so much history hidden about the place.

I'll leave you with this for ideas maybe.

Funny I never heard someone claiming to go to Berlin to visit the Christmas markets....

Other than that, I advise you to use the search engine, there's been several berlin Threads, and since some of us are Berliners you'll find tons of good advice.

What can you do there?? In short: Whatever you want, no matter WHAT you want!!

Germany has this reputation for Christmas Markets it appears! I went to HAJ for them last year but err yea, really worth it.  Wink

Adam, the things I listed are the most touristy things to do but hey, it's not so bad.

Have a beer with noUFO in that little bar under the railroad tracks.

True, but no exactly the Berlin ones.

It's pretty hard to give a good advice of what to do.....Berlin nightlife is (in)famous worldwide, and as opposed to certain other cities, it doesn't cost the world, if you don't fall for a rip-off, that is!

Maybe googling around and getting a list of what to do would be ok...then ask again and we'll get you there...

Cheers dude, I'll check your photos out. Though these are the most touristy things to see, they have to be seen.  Wink

Search engine isn't working at the moment, I have tried to use it a couple of times today.

This is good - can anyone suggest any good bars/clubs?

There are hundreds....what kind of club or bar or pub do you like, what's your favorite music, styling, are you more into boys or girls, do you want to party naked or fully dressed, dark and gothic or rather hip, hard and heavy or hiphop, just drinking or dining, too...give me SOME info on what you fancy!

The week before Christmas is the best opportunity to visit Berlin in the winter time. You'll find a lot of events, btw not only the Xmas markets, on this page:

Dance, trance, house etc...

For dancing naked, well, I'm sure it would be an interesting experience!

If you're staying near the Ku-damm, and want some good German-style food, I can recommend "Meineke X" in the Meinekestrasse. A decent, reasonably priced place.

No problem....there are several clubs in Berlin where you can do this, the most famous one the INfamous KitKat Club in Bessemerstrasse...see for yourself: www.kitkatclub.de...in German but you'll understand it anyway. Big grin

Wow! Must be very "reliable" this club.

rotfl  Sorry, that was to be expected! Well, you know, it is a reliable club, no rip-off, but yes, there is naked dancing (I understand Adam does believe this could be his cup of tea Big grin.).

And Kit Kat is rather famous, too, at least in the Berlin scene, so no, this is NOT a scam! And Kit Kat is NOT a b0rdello should anyone have THAT idea!! It is a club, house music predominantly, but trance as well, only people tend to run around ...well...in a somewhat different outfit.

The reason is that you obviously are not in Dubai or somewhere else in the UAE.
