Every now and then I check the spam folder on my e-mail client to see if anything important has slipped through. In doing so, I've found out that lately I've been getting loads of messages advertising weight loss products. WTF, are they trying to tell me something?!  ouch

So, how about you? What kind of spam do you usually get?

Don't expect to see me around that much (if at all) -- the contact link should still work, though.

Hmmm... I get very little SPAM; that is, very little makes it through the filters into the "suspected spam" folder of my e-mail provider and even less makes it into my actual inbox.

Most of them have been about some stock that absolutely, certainly would "soar" the next trading day... and then there's some entirely incoherent dribble which I can't make any sense of no matter how hard I try. Of course, Outlook Express is set to showing all e-mails as text only, so that might have to do something with it - but I won't find out.  Silly

On my Yahoo! account I get a bunch of offers to refinance my mortgage (don't have a mortgage). The first page of my bulk folder is almost all of those. And every now and then I get "stock tips" on my work email.... after nearly three years it has been remarkable devoid of spam.

Hmm ...
I never got spam or e-mails advertising weight loss products or porn so far.

Should I modify my filter settings?  blush

Mainly weight loss, penis growth and phishing. Though I'm now getting offers to rank my email address domain at the top of Google.

The usual medication spam, and in recent past a disproportionally large number of Watch offers. Not that I need those, I have my good connection to China  Wink .

Yeah I get loads of spam emails. Apparently I need;

A new sex partner,
A bigger penis,
A new mortgage,
Six pack and muscle building drugs,
To contact sexy girls in my area on a premium rate number,
The new 36% APR credit card from xyz,
To take part in medical trials.

The list goes on, and they all go in the recycle bin!

Judging by my e-mail, I need lots of helping paying off my student loans. Perhaps one of these days I'll get an e-mail offering me a student loan so I will then have something to pay off.

Every day I get (on average) 35+ spam emails trying to sell or offer me:

Penis enlargement products.....don't have one, don't need them..thanks

Viagra....if I don't have a penis, what makes you think I have erectile disfunction?

Real estate from foreclosures......swampland somewhere, no doubt

Investment advice....do I LOOK like I have $$$$ to invest??

Those "I've been left $80 million in a will, but need your help to inherit"....if I don't know who the hell you are, what makes you think I'm going to give you my financial information??

Porn...ummm, no.

Breast enlargement/reduction at "bargain basement prices".....yeah, and I have STUPID tattooed into my forehead.

People offering to be my "f*ck buddy".......I'm a lot more discerning than that, thank you.

They drive me nuts. If I get 35 of these per day, and only ONE of my email addresses, that's 245 per week, 12740 per YEAR. Whoever sends these things has WAY too much time on their hands...
