My Ex to be insisted that I burn both versions of Du Hast along with some Korn on a cd for her... I'd understand if we were teens or without kids... but what the fuck ever...

They are not what I normally listen too, most bands I like have a Female singer fronting them and are Symphonic or Gothic, but Rammstein have appealed to me recently, especially "Sonne"

I utterly love them. Not only do they have excellent music which all my friends like too, but they bring recognition of another country (Germany of course) to us stupid Americans. Excellent, excellent band. Excellent vocals and musicians all around, with varied sound and great performances. (Very over the top.) It's worth noting that I see a lot of Germans who do not like them for whatever reason.

I also think they are a great band. I saw them at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York back in July 2001. One of the best concerts ever. Great show and fantastic music.

I like them too, their a good band. I own the Mutter CD, one of the very few CD's I own actually. (I only own three) I would like to see them perform live aswell. What I like is the heavy guitar playing and German lyrics.

Rammstein is great - I have their Rosenrot album, and a few others. I can't understand most of it, doesn't stop me though. People think i'm bonkers listening to stuff I can't understand.

Quoting TedTAce (Reply 5): My Ex to be insisted that I burn both versions of Du Hast
You know, the English version is completely different from the German
Quoting RootsAir (Reply 19): They are a bit too right winged for my taste.
Actually, they are rather left wing. People think because they have a harsh tone they are rightist, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, Links, Zwei, Drei, Vier was a response to critics who completely mischaracterized them as such.
Quoting RootsAir (Reply 19): They even have a song called Hitler !!!!

Erm...RootsAir I take it you do not understand a single word of German? Well, maybe, just maybe it'd be sensible to have someone who does translate it for you, and then you'll find out the truth
But then you're not the only one, even some political-overcorrecties in Germany tried to put the bad bad bad rightwing label onto them, related to the rolling rrrrrrrr of Till Lindemann.
I do like them, or rather...did, it gets tiresome after all these years, and they don't come up with something new actually. Still, when they made the live album, I WAS THERE, and THAT was a frigging great concert!! (first time I was on a concert that was recorded...the second one being Rush 2004 Frankfurt)

I remember in the late 90s at a birthday party when someone brought a CD with German heavy metal. We laughed so hard the first time we heard it, but it was pretty cool at the same time.
The album was of course
Sehnsucht
Loved pretty much all the songs on that album (although Du Hast has become tiring since it became known all over the world.) Some of the newer stuff ain't so bad either.
Decent band.

Rammstein, geile Mucke . Absolutely love them, just about hard enough for my taste. Albeit, I also really like their "ballads", if you can call them that, namely "Ohne Dich" and "Klavier". Also, not to forget that they always put out interesting videos, to say the least, even though some are rather controversial, with two of them being completely banned from German television, "Mein Teil" due to supposed cannibalism, and "Stripped", because the video is based on films produced under the Nazi regime. And yet they allow that ultra-gay video for "Mann gegen Mann"...
The only song on that album I couldn't stand, but it sounds much better today.

25 B737-112: My absolute favorite band! I was at home one night at about 1:30am watching MTV, yes they were actually playing videos then and they played "Du Hast"
26 BR076: That song was not from Rammstein but some obscure Finnish band.
