Pat Tillman's Brother Speaks Out For First Time

Everyone should read Pat Tillman's brother speak out, for the first time, against Bush and the Iraq war.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2633793

It is powerful stuff, and it shows how Bush has utterly and absolutely lost this nation on the Iraq war. Right now, even I have trouble looking/listening to Bush when he brings up Iraq!

My wife, Mrs. Texdravid, who is nonpolitical, asks me all the time, what are we doing there and why did we go there in the first place. I sit there silent.

Bush and the Republicans I feel, deserve to lose this election this fall, and lose I think they shall. They need some time in the political wilderness, and the left needs to bring our young men and women home. Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove are trying to gin up the base, but I think reasonable conservatives will sit this one out.

When they lose a dutiful conservative like me, it's curtain time.

Liar. You're one of those people who claim to be conservatives but spout nothing but DNC talking points.

As for Tillman's brother, what a moron. Pat died in Afghanistan, not Iraq but facts never get in the way of barking moonbat Bush haters.

Uh, are we talking about the same user? Come on B757300, thats so classless.

Tex, you know we've had our differences, but it takes a big man to make a post like that.

Wow...I can't even think of a response to that.

The RNC is very lucky to have a sheep like you.

What? Somebody speaking out against the war? He MUST be exploiting the circumstances of his brothers death. What a scumbag, time to feed both him AND Cindy Sheehan to the lions....

(dripping with sarcasm)

In all seriousness, good for him to speak out. Our soldiers are dying every day, they are making the ultimate sacrifice, but for what? Do we truly know WHY they are there and what their sacrifice is worth?

Dude, do you have a clue? I have been one of A.net's most ardent conservatives since joining. Read my last 1000 posts and my arguments, disagreements and outright fights with liberals.

I am nothing of the kind of which you speak and complain of. I am an extremely disheartened conservative who in no earthly way will ever support any economic or social policies of Pelosi, Kennedy, et. al.

However, that being said, enough is enough. The bloodletting has to stop, and if that means loss of the House/Senate, so be it. The Bushies have to know that the mission in Iraq has failed and failed miserably.

Tex,

Based on your previous posts, I did not think you would have made such a statement. Bravo!

As for Kevin Tillman. I feel sorry for him for what is about to happen to him. The Bushies are going to do everything to tarnish this brave man's image. He will be called unpatriotic and a traitor for going against the dear leader.

He never said his brother died in Iraq. He is talking about the war in Iraq. Never let the facts get your way.

I REALLY hate do this, but I gotta stand up for Texdravid on this one, B757300.

He IS a real conservative: YOU, on the other hand are a reactionary of the right, too afraid to even THINK of critisizing ANYTHING George W. Bush or the GOP does.

You're talking a guy, in Texdravid, despite all his faults, as we all have, that is being intellectually honest here, and saying that Bush and the administration has lost him on Iraq. That's not a sign of someone talking in DNC jargon, that's someone, who, like many Americans-and many true conservatives-just ache over where this nation has gone in Iraq, and how totatlly mismanaged it was.

I was against it from the beginning, and still am, but had the war been run properly, we'd probably be out of there by now. But it's been so bungled, that it's impossible for all but the most ardent ass-kissers of this administration-and you're one of them-to not see what a political, military and diplomatic crisis this has become.

So I give credit to Texdravid. I can almost hear the anguish in what he writes. I get that anguish everytime another procession passes me, with another dead Ohio soldier coming back from Iraq-and I've seen probably 50 to 60 of those processions, B757300, mostly from my spot in the Hub Ops center for CO at CLE.

You, on the other hand, are so far removed from reallty-much like Mr. Bush-that it just doesn't dawn on you that this war is a terribly bad thing for this nation, and its long-term interests.

We cannot get out now, as we owe, as I've said, a debt of honor to those who have fallen, and to the Iraqi people, but if we don't turn it around, and quickly, then we will have to leave, and that country will explode in a wave of violence that makes today's fighting look like a minor skirmish.

These are amazing words by Kevin Tillman.

Bush himself should have to read this and really all Americans would benefit from it.

People like Kevin should be the spokesmen for the opposition to the Bush Administration...in fact people like Kevin should run for office.

Take away the so called advantage the chicken-hawk war-making Republicans have on national security by putting bulletproof figures like Kevin Tillman on a platform and letting any Republican in Washington with an equal record try to say he is wrong.

And, the amazing thing, is I'll bet you the whole Tillman family is very pro-Republican for the most part, from listening to them in the past.

It's part of the disllusion with this war, much like the left had with Vietnam in the 60's. Not comparing the two wars, just the disillusionment that resulted from both.

I have to "ditto" that statement. Listen Tex, things are cyclical. Don't despair; sometimes change is a good thing. Perhaps we give it a chance?

You are a discredit to the concept of freedom.
