I know this was touched on in another thread But I thought given the article it deserves it's own thread.

I have been an Ekronoplane freak for years ever since I saw a piece on the Discovery channel about a company in Miami developing one.

The article mentions it, and I have long thought that such a craft would be a natural in the Maldives, I also think the Caribbean would make another natural fit for a pax version.

The article also mentions Boeing's Pelican Project, but doesn't mention the current status. It also takes a shot (bootnotes) at the Hercules (spruce goose) claiming that it never made it out of ground effect and therefore never 'flew'.

Personally I'd love to see these things all over the place.
