With Iraq dominating the political debate, President Bush scheduled a news conference Wednesday to update the nation on the war. The White House said he would not announce any increase or decrease in troop levels.
So, I guess we're still in for 30 minutes or so of some great comedy.

Here is the transcript of the speech, but nothing on the Q&A session that followed. Another thing I will point out is that the folks on the east coast generally dont consider the time difference to the west coast. This was done at 730am pacific time, and I was dreemily snoozing at 630am AK time. If this was such an important press conference you think he would have made it at a time when realisitically any American who wanted to watch could.
All in all, after reading the transcript, just more BS. A good leader, not even a great leader is one who will admit thier faults, and take responsibility of the failures of those they lead. Not one mention about actually rebuilding the country. He talked about having the UAE, KSA and Jordan(Kuwait interestingly was left out)to help out, well if I was those countries, Id tell Bush he was a day late and a buck short. Now nearly 4 years after the war starts, when the situation in Baghdad is a total SNAFU do we go asking for help. When this all started, if Bush &Co. would have been patient, negotiated with those countries and secured help, I think you would probably see a viable and working democracy in Iraq.
But hey good news, Al Sadr said yesterday that the Iraqis should quit killing each other. Which is a breath of fresh air, he said instead that both groups should focus thier attention on killing Americans. Thanks George. Way to lead the most powerful country in the world into a quagmire that will set this country back 20 years.

I thought you liked Bush... Oh well.
The Q and A session was equally laughable. More deflection then an AA AB320-600 rudder flying out of JFK. At least Dave's going to have plenty of material for tonight's presidential moments/speaches bit.

It's a non starter. He's just attempting be humble and plead for more time. Finally admitting the war is going badly is not going to get him one single vote.
His base only wants to hear good news no matter if it's bullshit.
I love the speeches though. His approval rating notches down each time.
Not sure what made you think that, most of my posts generally bash him. If its in reference to my username, that is coincidental, I live out in Bush AK, and am a student pilot, among many other things. Though I do need to get to work on my soloing work.
