2007 Wrangler And Dodge Nitro, One In The Same?

Say it ain't so!

I heard from a friend that the new revamped 2007 Wrangler is on a Dodge Nitro frame. Is this true? If so this may alter my plans on purchasing a new Wrangler next year (may go for a '06' model instead). I am a Jeep nut and a purist and the ideal driving around on a Dodge SUV frame does not set well with me.

From what I can gather off of Allpar.com, the only possible version of the 2007 Wrangler that could be using the same frame as the Dodge Nitro is the Wrangler Unlimited X. I have to say that the Wrangler Unlimited X looks pretty damn sweet.

It does look like the 2008 Liberty will be sharing the same platform as the Dodge Nitro though (Just as the upcoming Compass and Patriot will be sharing the Dodge Caliber platform.).

Myself, I'm liking the looks of the next generation Stratus (Being renamed the Avenger, which was the original name of the what became the Stratus Coupe). It looks like a shrink of the Charger with the front end of the Caliber. It's sibling the Sebring, has gotten a Crossfire inspired makeover.

Wrangler is on its own platform.

The Nitro and updated Liberty share a platform.... which is unibody, not BOF.

A 4 door Jeep is not a real Jeep. If you need 4 doors buy a Wagoneer.

Now this is a real Jeep

Absolutely not. Jeep Wrangler has a full frame, NItro is Unibody.
