I'm always amazed for the growing number of a.netters who join periodically and for the nicknames used to post messages. Although some of them are clearly understandable (name + favourite aircraft, favourite route, etc), others have likely unknown origins for most of the users.
Mine, for instance, is the English translation of the name of Alitalia's old logo, la Freccia Alata, which is no longer in use. I choosed it because at the time I registered on a.net I used to work for AZ and I thought it was on original way to let others know. But, of course, is not so obvious.
The nicknames we choose are surely civil aviation related, so I hope this thread won't be deleted soon. If you're willing to share the origins of your a.net nickname, just take a moment to turn your attention from usual topics to post a little message here. Otherwise don't judge me as a nosey parker, just ignore my curiosity and push the Back button!!!

Jpax is just a combination of my first and last name. First letter of my First name, then First three letters of my last, but skipping a letter for a better flow...Confusing? I pondered for hours trying to think of an original name for A.net
Aerobalance is an aerodynamic state of a moving craft, usually through air. I make wind tunnel instruments. I included a link of a NASA project done a few years ago using one of my balances. On the page is an assembled balance and then spare sensing components are in another pic (those components are in the balance) NASA-Ames has over 70 of my balances in use, of 650 world-wide. I just received a contract for a special balance to be used on the Orion heat shield ablamation and ejection testing, I'm stoked!
