Hello all,

I was thinking of replacing the Golf IV I currently own by either of the following vehicles :

Audi A4 1.8T
BMW 320i (outgoing model/E46)
Mercedes C180K
Subaru Impreza WRX
Volkswagen Golf V GTI

I however stumbled on the following :

Half the price of a 320i and can apparently kick the Bimmer's ass.
Add to that Toyota reliability and it becomes an attractive proposal.

Does anyone own such a vehicle (or the JDM Toyota equivalent) ?

67000 km, is advertised at €11,000 but can be negotiated.

The IS is a nice enough car. In the US it was well reviewed and compared favorably (but never bested) the BMW E46 3-series in tests. Though I must say it looks awfully funny with the smaller European bumpers when compared to the US spec bumpers.

AFAIK there aren't any major issues with that generation IS, nor the 2.0L inline 6. Plus having the 6 cylinder should make it easier to drive in general.... though it won't be a rocket ship.

The only automobile on your list I wouldn't go w/ is the C-class. Its a nice enough looking car (you didn't give model years so I am guessing it is a W203), but they never faired very well versus the competition. And depending on the year the 1.8L Kompressor can be a dog of an engine or very good.
