For the first time in Alaskas short statehood, we have elected a female Governor. She is a Republican who is pretty right wing, I wouldnt call her a moderate at all. But she trounced current GOP Gov. Murkowski in the primaries and then went on to defeat a former two term Governor Tony Knowles who was highly popular, and a solid Independant candidate Andrew Halcro.
So though I did not vote for her(ANCFlyer was not a Palin supporter either) I think I can safely say that Alaska now has the best looking Governor in the union. Unless someone has another candidate up for debate.
