Now, I'm not a mean guy. I don't dislike dogs. I love my collies. BUT!! Dropping your unwanted pet in the country side is NOT a good option.
One of two things is going to happen:
1. It's going to starve to death because it doesn't know what to eat.
2. It's going to find friends, pack up, start harassing the livestock, and get killed by a rancher.
I don't like shooting your dogs, so stop dropping them on my property. Fido isn't going to have a happy life living in the wild like his ancestors. Spare the drive out to the middle of no where and take him to the SPCA if you can't stand him anymore. There is someone out there somewhere that will love your dog if you don't anymore.

You're not being unreasonable at all,I have family in rural Minnesota,the same thing happens there "some nice farmer will take them in",the farmers have their own pets and problems,the other side is the people who dump their cats out there,these things are devastating to game birds and song birds,not to mention the diseases they can bring to the family pets.
