Welcome to our little report from the “Mini Manchester 06 Meet”. This meet was just a get together for us three... Turned out to be a rather humorous day!

My day started off leaving Barnetby at 05:45 to travel to Rochdale to pick fellow anetter, Daleaholic up... After battling through the morning traffic, I managed to make his house for 06:15, 15 minutes earlier then planned. We then set off for MYT332’s house.

We arrived into Chorley around 08:00 where we were greeted by Alex and his family, served with hot tea and toast on arrival! After Alex was ready he took us to the “legendry” Train spotters Bridge...

EWS 67 Passing through..

We then left for Daz’s (Dazultra) house where Alex could pick up some charged batteries for his camera, and also use the shithouse..

We then headed off to the Southside of MAN, 24L and setup the chairs, camera’s and binoculars!

Prince Charles paid a visit..  rotf

Alex and Paul sharing memories..

After sitting in the freezing cold for a few house we decided to make a move round to the airport pub for a drink and to shoot some arrivals. Needless to say the drink was flowing and the arrivals didn’t happen!

Alex with his super tongue!

We found a table with some anet graffiti on it! “AvianceGirlUK” and “JKW” from previous meets!

BA 737 Arrival..

Alex trying to Balance a BMI ERJ on his shoulders..

He couldn’t wait for the toilet.. When a mans gotta go, a mans gotta go..  rotf

Alex staring at one of the MAN bacon arrivals on 24L!

rotf  This shot took a lot of planning but we nailed it in the end.. Alex eating a BACon Dash 8!  rotf

WILCO737 paid us a visit.. Big grin

We then headed off for lunch at the Romper, near the viewing park. Joined now by the one and only Dazultra.. Dinner was served in the forms of Scampi and Chips (x2), Goats Cheese with some pasta crap, and a Aberdeen Angus Burger with Chips!

Paul realising he’s had too much beer..

Daz Wishing he had a car like mine..  stirthepot

We then headed over to the AVP to watch the sun draw the close of the day and fade away.. Alex and Daz watching the grass grow..

Final Shot of the day..

Thanking myself that I wasn’t going home in the other direction the traffic was solid for about 15 miles!!!!!

Thanks for reading!

Nicely timed, well executed shot! What does Canadian aircraft taste like?

Perhaps I should have gone to University in Manchester and not Boringingham, its more fun at the airport by the looks of it - nice report guys.  yes

Best damn statement yet! Does anybody realise how many times I said shit whilst I read through this thread? Damn it, why me? I mean why do I have to act such an idiot around the camera and/or why is it always Lew's camera?
This means it's payback.

Oh shit first I just have to explain some things first:

The opening photo: I was mid way keeling over in mong like laughter as this was the second attempt at the photo and the camera was on self timer, I just lost it. Damn it.

Quoting GOCAPS16 (Reply 9):
hahaha, Alex, im sure you can take a loaf better then that.

I don't even know what that means but shut up.

Quoting EWS (Thread starter):
After Alex was ready he took us to the "legendry" Train spotters Bridge...

No just no, Lew wanted to go! It's not a train spotting bridge either!  Angry

Ah bugger it, you're all bastards. Lew made me do all the stupid things and it's just not bloody fair I tell you! Where is the thought for my dignity? Oh dear god.

Ok here we have below Daleaholic and EWS trainspotting as they are geeks!

Lew when his false teeth fell out.

Then Lew the pervert using my camera to take this.

Anyway, I'm going to dig myself a hole and hide in it till next week.

Leave my ears out of it too. Sad  irked

*At least my photos and videos aren't taken out of context!*

Thanks for sharing, Lew. Seems like you guys had fun.

I had thought of coming up to MAN but being half-term weekend all flights were either full or the fares were very expensive. It would have been worth it though to see WILCO737 in an Airbus!!
