It is the start of week 3 of our game. I mentioned in the previous thread that a new and more "fair" points system will now be used. This is what it is based on:

Original Projection...............................20 Points
Kept Projection...................................12 Points
Revised Projection................................-8 Points
Team Victory.......................................12 Points per team
Team defeat.......................................-12 points per team
Team in the Top Ten BCS.....................10 points for 1st place, 9 for 2nd place and so on (For example, Michigan=9 points, 2nd in the BCS)
Both your teams make it to Glendale........45 Points
Your Projection comes true.....................80 Points

That being said, here are the NEW Standings:

1. Chrisjake: OSU over Michigan…………..20+12+10+9+24=………75 Points
2. CMHSRQ: OSU over Michigan………….20+12+10+9+24=………75 Points
3. DeltaGator: Gators over OSU................20+12+24+7+10=……….73 Points
4. AC320: Gators over Michigan…………..20+12+24+7+9=…………72 Points
5. TPAflyer: Gators over OSU…………….20-8+24+10+7=…………..53 Points
6. GarnetPalmetto: OSU over Gators…….20-8+24+10+7=………….53 Points
7. Piercey: Rutgers over OSU…………….20-8+24+10+5=…………..51 Points
8. Nonrevman: OSU over West Virginia…..20+12+10+3=…………...45 Points
9. Falcon84: OSU over Louisville …………..20+12+1+10=………….43 Points
10. AirCop: Boise State over Rutgers………..20-8+24+6=……………42 Points
11. Halls120: OSU over Texas……………….20+12+10=…………….42 Points
12. Garri767: Texas over OSU………………20+12+10=………………42 Points
13. USPIT10L: West Virginia over OSU…….20+12+10=………………42 Points
14. FXramper: Texas over Michigan…………20+12+9=……………...41 Points
15. KAUSpilot: Texas over Michigan………..20+12+9=……………….41 Points
16. Boston92: OSU over Texas…………….20-8+10=………………….24 Points

Man, I really SUCK. I will have to change my projection yet again. If you need to change your projection or if you want to post a new projection, feel free to.

P.S. If you have a team that does have 'byes' left, you will gain points for keeping your projection but no points will be added for victories or defeats.

That is it I think, let the game and argument continue!

Interesting that USC has not made the list, although I hope someone else makes it to the big game. It is nice to see some different teams going for it. I wonder what will happen if Rutgers does run the table. Would they be allowed to play for the title or would they be skipped because they are not an "established" BCS team. Of course, they still have to play three games, one of them being West Virginia.

It's not so much that they aren't an established BCS team it is that their schedule is weak thus allowing them to obtain that possible undefeated season though I do think they will lose to WVU. The computer polss taking into account strength of schedule and such punish them for playing Howard, UConn, UNC, etc. while teams like Florida are rewarded for playing so many ranked teams and tough opponents from the SEC.

The only way they make the championship game is if OSU and UM were both to lose (impossible at this point) and they and possibly Boise State were left as the only unbeatens. Even then I think they would be shut out of it based on strength of schedule. Or Hell, just let them play for it and we'll have a playoff in place next year due to the bogusness of the title game at that point.

Yeah, if they do run the table, it will mean they are better than Louisville and WVU, but they have not proven that they can be ranked as good or better than teams like UM, OSU, USC, Florida, and Notre Dame; the Top 5 right now.

If this week's matchup is a close one, and both teams win the remainder of their games, then it is a real possibility - especially if Michigan beats OSU by 3 points or less.

If it's a blowout, the BCS will be the OSU-Mich winner against either USC or Arkansas.

As much as you hate to agree; if the Um OSU is a blowout, it will be UM-OSU winner vs either [winner of USC vs ND] or the [winner of Florida vs Arkansas].

Sorry, but ND is not out of it yet.

Your scenario is still viable as well.

You better hope that USC beats Cal, though. If they don't, a ND victory over SC won't mean squat.

True, but even if Cal beats USC, ND will move up to #4 anyway. Florida loses to Arkansas and they move to #3. Michigan and OSU is a blowout and Notre Dame is #2.

That would be awesome. Just one catch with that theory...

The OSU/Michigan game is the last game of the regular season for both teams, so it comes down to this game. The loser doesn't have a chance to make up for it. The next game for each team will be their respective bowl games.

confused  Isn't this the season ending game for both Ohio State and Michigan, so therefore how can they both win? Legal advice please...

USC appears on a roll after the last two games, Cal offense looked crappy against the Arizona Mildcats. If USC does win this week, I see them playing OSU in Glendale.

This week pick: The Ohio State University v. University of Southern California.

LOL, OK, so I don't have my schedules straight. Didn't realize this was the season ender for both.

However, let's say Michigan beats OSU by 3 points. If among the remaining contenders, no one emerges as a worthy opponent, I see an OSU-Michigan BCS title game.

As much as everybody hates to agree, USC will have a tough game vs Notre Dame. With the one USC game that Weis has coached, it was something like 30-27 and that was a with a way better QB than Booty. My guess is ND will beat USC but will be #3 right after Arkansas and OSU.

You are correct, however if you look at the BCS numbers. OSU is just .003 a head of Michigan in the polls. The computer actually ranks OSU #3 Michigan #1 and Rutgers #2.

# 3 USC is a full .1036 behind Michigan. Which is a huge gap, like others have said, if it's a close game no matter who wins the chances of OSU-UM is good.

If you ask me, we should just bring the BCS trophy to Columbus this weekend and settle it.

OSU beating Um by a field goal. I am still not convinced that UM will stay #2. They will drop to #3, or #4, and with a ND win over USC, thats opens UM to then move back up to #2 and a shot at the BCS Champ.

25 Halls120 : Too early to say, but Michigan didn't do much to make a case for staying #2, despite the close score. I think at this point my revised prediction is

29 AirCop : Cal sure fell from grace that last two weeks, the qb is awful..Probably lose to Stanford next week, and end up in the Elko Bowl or something like that
30 Boston92 : I would not go THAT far to losing to a team like Stanford!!
31 DeltaGator : ESPN poll just came out and it is utter crap! Michigan only drops to #3. I'm fine with USC going to #2 since they beat a ranked team and we demolished
32 Boston92 : I could not have said it better myself. One question: That ESPN poll is not taken into consideration in the BCS computer rankings, right?

36 Boston92 : Dropped? This sucks. The coaches poll came out too, and USC is 2, UM 3.
