The Greatest Hit Machine In Music History?

I watched DVD (documentry) last night about a band that is with out a doubt the greatest hit machine in music history. This band has played on more number one records than the Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stone, Elvis Presley and Muse, Combined!
They are a band that called themselves the "Funk Brothers" Funny I never heard of them. The DVD is Standing in the Shadows of Motown!
