Take Off would see "Euphoria" by Sirenia blasting through my headphones (or if I wanted to choose an even more aptly named song, perhaps "Skyward" by Edenbridge.

Whilst sipping a nice glass of Champagne in cruise "Man on the Moon" by REM would be playing.

Landing would have me playing "Deadlocked" by Tristania, it has a very down to Earth feel about it, a certain sense of finality.

How about "Jet Airliner" by the Steve Miller Band.

I don't think I'd play any Lynrd Skynrd music while flying.

OR...
Buddy Holly, Rick Nelson, SRV, Jim Croce, Randy Rhodes and certainly not under any conditions... John Denver!

For take off, a good choice of sony would be 'Smack by bitch up' by Prodigy.

For cruising, just chill out songs, especially during the day and you'r flying above the cloud with the sun in your face.

And I have no idea about landing music.

Can you say 'Beer Can' without sounding like a Jamaican saying 'Bacon'?

Ozzy has the answer there too... "Back on Earth".  Wink

Btw, would it be unsuitable for the pilots to listen to Pink floyd - "Learning to fly" before takeoff?

Awesome. You're a sick, funny bastard.

I'd have to go with Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly."

If you frequently fly Virgin Atlantic, for landing they always play Ronan Keating - Life Is A Rollercoaster.

As for my iPod...

Takeoff i'd be listening to some uplifting trance.
Cruise i'd have some very dirty twisted techno
Landing i'd probably settle for the funky house and ibiza chill...

I've got an iPod video, so it'd probably be some converted porn, or some old episodes of Family Guy.

Maybe Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" or Depeche Mode's "Blasphemous Rumors" if I were limited to music only.

We can agree to disagree.

I think my flying songs would be

Take off song: Burnout by Green Day
Cruising: Something 'chill outy'
Landing: oh, not sure what a landing song would be

First Class passengers are my favourites. They can't get any further forward without an ATPL.

I think that would depend on just how much you trust the pilot Big grin

Takeoff: Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf
Midair: Spread Your Wings by Queen (well, rather the whole album. Can be substituted with anything from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ayreon, etc.)
Landing: Ozzy's Mama I'm Coming Home
