I am looking for a new cell phone, and T-mobile has the PEBL for free online. I can add another line to my family plan for just $10/month, and that way get the PEBL for $120 total.
Anybody here own that phone and/or have any experience with it?

I got myself a PEBL 6 months ago:
1. It's a better phone than the RAZR I had.
2. The rubberized body has a great feel to it - very cool product design.
3. Also slick is the sliding cover.
4. My only negative is that it's a Motorola - temperamental, compared to Nokia.

I was looking at the PEBL. I'm not in to spending a load of money on phones, I use them for making phone calls and not much else, so I don't need a lot of bells and whistles. As long as I can bluetooth my PDA to it and use it as a dial-up modem, and as long as it supports my bluetooth ear piece, then I'm happy.
I currently have a RAZR, and I like it, but it's nearly 2 years old and kinda scratched up and stuff. Perhaps I'll look at getting a PEBL.

I think I'm gonna swing by the mall or Sam's Club tomorrow. See if they have the PEBL there. Check out how it works and so, and then if I like it, order it online
I know I don't like Motorola menues, but maybe I can live with that if the phone is cool.

I currently connect to the Internet using Bluetooth to my RAZR and connecting out over GPRS. It's like a dial-up modem, speedwise, but I use it only for sending and receiving office email when I'm on the road. It's pretty good. I'm interested to try EDGE though, and see what the speed difference is like.

Went and checked out the PEBL yesterday. Seemed like a decent phone, but I ended up opting for a T-Mobile Dash, as I wanted a PDA phone. Nice bit of kit, if you ask me.

I tried to check out the PEBL, but nobody around here seems to sell it anymore. They tried selling me the Dash as well, but I just told her I wasn't interested in a Blackberry phone. And that I'd use an iPod for MP3s

I have my iPod, it never leaves my side . But, running a business, I need email on the go. The PDA/RAZR via bluetooth worked, but was cumbersome. After 2 days with the Dash, I love it. Glad I splashed the cash.
Oh, and EDGE is signficantly faster than GPRS. I bit like going from dial-up to ISDN.

It looks and feels great, my sister has one.
However, like the RAZR and other MOTOROLAS for that matter, it has a shoddy OS.
Really crappy to use.
But, if aesthetics are of a higher value to you than operational ability, then its superb.
I myself have a RAZR as my backup phone - purely for the blue backlit motorola logo.
Yeah, I'm anal.
