I have just done something I haven't done for years. I was slicing mushrooms to go in the chilli I was preparing whilst having a natter with a friend. I looked away for a moment and yep, not the mushroom being sliced but my thumb. Thankfully, the nail stopped the knife from doing too much damage. It's just that, after so long a period since this happened last, I felt sickened. OK now though. Finished the preparation and dinner is cooking. Tis just a bugger though. For that moment of distraction. Hmmm! Used the knife again but, with a bit more respect. Bleeding sore thumb though  ouch

I agree...I learned last year not to iron and talk on the cell phone at the same time. Ouch.

Fun coincidence, I learned recently that it is much better to iron the clothes after you take them off.

I play badminton a lot, most of the time I will actually run off the court to get a shot, even if my return subsequently hits the net or goes out and I lose the point. I also don't think anything of throwing myself across the court to grab a shot, something which results in many grazes and bruises when I land, although it does somewhat defeat the opposition mentally as almost all of the time I win the point!

I learned that its better to spend the extra ten seconds going around the end of the fence than over it. Just like stepping on a rake, the fence plank I leaned on for support pivoted on the crossbrace and smacked me in the head. Then, it was ass-over-applecart backwards to the ground. I thought for sure I'd broken my neck, but the collarbone was all that suffered.

Something really stupid happened to me at the gas station yesterday. Usually I am driving cars which need regular fuel so I am used to grab the "Ultimate 100" pump at the gas station to fill up the car. I did the same yesterday but the problem was that I have an Audi A6 with Diesel engine since a few days, I noticed my mistake after I already put approx. 12 liters of regular fuel into the tank, I stopped immediately, grabbed the Diesel pump and filled the rest of the tank with it. Nothing strange happened till now, the car is behaving normal.  relieved

Forgetting to clean sensor after switching lenses all day long:

70-200L to 100-400L to 70-200L to 100-400L to 1.4x with 100-400L to 70-200L.

Then next day after forgetting to clean after the change: 70-200L to 300L with 2x to 300L without 2x to 70-200L with 2x and 1.4x to 100-400L with 2x and 1.4x to 100-400L without 2x and 1.4x to 70-200L.

Ok wow... and that made my acceptance ratio fall down like an elevator that has lost its cables down to 72%!  crying  Of course 'cause of dust spots.

Ah, I'll remember next time.  Smile

Hah, literally 15 minutes ago, while cutting up onions, I sliced the palm of my left hand. The only bandaid I could find was a small one, which was soaked in 10 seconds. So my makeshift bandaid consists of paper towel + scotch tape.

I'm hoping the damn thing clots so I don't have to go get stitches......

And needless to say, I don't think this batch of cooking will come out all that well....I'm kinda pissed off about cutting myself.

Ouch!...disinfect the palm thoroughly!  Smile I used up half roll of paper towels just to get to the emergency room...almost sliced my whole finger off!  Sad That was a nightmare...and that's why I haven't cooked (or drink canned soup) in a while.  silly

I tried to slice hard crusted bread with a fillet knife... Afterwards I had to clean the way from my kitchen to the bathroom. I left a trace of drops of blood when I ran to get something to disinfect the wound in my hand palm. banghead
