Time to confess: I love singing karaoke! In the town where I live you can find it almost every night in one place or another, my local pub has it on a Thursday night and we are regulars there. This week it was pretty quiet so I took full advantage and sang:

American Pie (Don McLean, the full length version)
Telegraph Road (Dire Straits)
Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison)
Losing My Religion (REM)
Tequila Sunrise (Eagles)
Bus Stop (Hollies)
Let Her Cry (Hootie and the Blowfish)
You've Lost That Loving Feeling (Righteous Brothers)
Achy Breaky Heart (Billy Ray Cyrus)
Loslappie (Kurt Darren) an Afrikaans song LOL

So is anyone else a karaoke fan or do you keep it to the shower?

Tequila Sunrise (Eagles)

Good song. It is not from my era but still good. My father gave me an apriciation for the good ol late 70's and early 80's music.

Well I have sang a few songs for Karaoke:

1) Hotel California
2) Rapers Delight (Sugar Hill Gang)
3) YMCA of course at a High School ralley for homecoming

I do love karaoke. But I prefer playing/singing onstage with a band.

I live for karaoke but the shame kills me. My usual number is Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush, which always gets quite a shocked but appreciative reception. I love it!

Want some real, rousing karaoke?

Then, let's gather around the piano while I play, and sing the Soviet National Anthem!

1.
Soyuz nerushimy respublik svobodnykh
Splotila naveki velikaya Rus'!
Da zdravstvuyet sozdanny voley narodov
Yediny, moguchy Sovetsky Soyuz!
CHORUS:
Slavsya, Otechestvo nashe svobodnoye,
Druzhby narodov nadyozhny oplot,
Partiya Lenina — sila narodnaya
Nas k torzhestvu kommunizma vedyot!
2.

Skvoz' grozy siyalo nam solntse svobody,
I Lenin veliky nam put' ozaril,
Na pravoye delo on podnyal narody,
Na trud i na podvigi nas vdokhnovil!
CHORUS
3.

V pobede bessmertnykh idey kommunizma
My vidim gryadushcheye nashey strany,
I krasnomu znameni slavnoy otchizny
My budem vsegda bezzavetno verny!
CHORUS

Now wasn't that fun?  Wink

Only if we sound as good as it does in The Hunt for Red October! That is one of my favourite parts of that movie.

Karaoke lover here too! We started getting a karaoke machine on one night of some of our tournaments at the curling club - makes for great fun since curlers tend to be a boozy bunch. We'll have it this Friday - it'll be good fun!

Never in the shower. Often on the road when in the car alone. I have a voice that is so awful it defies description. Which is very sad, because I love to sing.
