Well, back to my question;
Is there any cheap.. or, economic hotels at Iceland? If I'm coming I dont want to spend to much on the facilities. Or, anyone have any kind of ideas?

Why are we on another damn thread after only 150 replies, we don't live in 1995! There's so many threads, most of which are filled with pointless banter that has nothing to do with it, most have no idea of the hotel situation etc. Keep to Iceland chat and stop posting threads after we've reached 2 replies, there's plenty of other forum space for anything else. RANT OVER!

Ok, finally got to work on this trip. Several things actually. My subscription time came up and with a new job that I've been after for quite sometime I decided to change my screen name to more accurately reflect me. So out with Gilligan and in with RJdxer. I have changed the name in the list below. Picked up a room at the Floki Inn for two nights, Friday and Saturday. The pictures of the place look ok but I've been fooled before. Aero145 do you have any opinions on the place? Thirdly, does anyone here have any idea what the jumpseating policy is on BA? If I fly to LGW and try to pick up a flight out of there does BA allow jumpseating on international flights by other airlines employees? It might be fun to do that. Anyway, I'm all in and looking forward to the first part of next year. Vegas in March and Iceland in April, what a hoot! Maybe if I'm lucky in Vegas the Iceland trip will be paid for before I leave!

I have to agree with Kaz. I haven't any idea what I'm going to be doing, or be able to do, in April. At this point, I am still booked, and fully plan to attend. However, I may cancel at any time. Hopefully, and as far as I can tell, I'll see you all there.

You're at the mercy of the gate staff... I tried to jumpseat on the way back from JFK last week, one member of staff on one flight was okay with it but in the end the jumpseat was taken by someone with a higher priority and then the second flight it was available but the second agent wasn't happy for me to jumpseat.

Its swings and roundabouts really...

OK guys

Its with deep regret and after much consideration and talking it through with the family, we WILL NOT be attending the KEF meeting. The fact that my partner John may well be losing his job in April next year wasn't a factor in this after all as we could have afforded it after alot of working out a budget plan. The truth is that neither he nor our lad Simon were that keen about it whereas it was different for me.  ashamed
Now there has been an announcement about a meeting a AMS at the end of March and the sad news about the closure of the Kaagbaan spotting spot  weeping  dueto Martinair's expansion in May 07 ( it will be badly missed when it closes). We really want to get to this meeting instead and its going to be alot cheaper as well cost wise.

So sorry to let you all down like this.

Ignore our names on the list everyone.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great time over there and for those who are flying, have a safe journey . wave

Regards
Sue xxx

Despite the name I am a Boeing man through and through!

142 British767 : Im my experience of meets generally it isn't the numbers of posts that decide how good a meet will be, so don't worry. This meet was planned waaaaaay

158 Post contains images Go3Team : I've also been thinking about hiring a car, the rates seem pretty reasonable, but all that depends on the price of fuel. A big van rate is around 700
