Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so:

In addition, LSU fans have snagged up 32,000 seat pre-orders. So much for the Tigers not traveling well. And if things happen they way they should, LSU should be facing Michigan.

Assumming USC finishes its season with a win on Saturday, it does look like LSU will be coming to out west to the grand daddy of them all the Rose Bowl. Ask Texas and Nebraska, the Rose Bowl is a totally different enviroment. Texas was prepared, and Nebraska well ..LSU fans should have a great time. LSU/Michigan should to the best matchup on New Years Day.
P.S. I wish it was the old days Big 10 vs. Pac 10, oh well times change.

I grew up out there in those days, so I remember very well the USC-Ohio State/Michigan, etc matchups. The other thing I remember well is that it seemed every New Years Day was one of the best weather days of the year, a "Chamber of Commerce" day, if you will. And every year, without fail, my dad would take one look at the New Years Day weather and say, "oh great, and another 100,000 people will see this weather and move out here".

Believe me, I know that if LSU makes it out there, the fans who make the trek are in for a great time.....at the parade, the game, etc. My wife having graduated from LSU, there's a little more riding on this possible bowl matchup than others for us.

What if Arkansas wins on Saturday? You think LSU will get the nod over Florida for a BCS at-large, even though they went down in Gainesville? Nothing is remotely for sure yet, but i'd sure hope LSU would get the nod over Notre Dame.

Considering Florida hasn't been exactly been blowing teams out of late, except Western Carolina, I would imagine a win by Arkansas would dump Florida out of the BCS. LSU has finished up strong, and save for a jam-job from a bad interference call vs Auburn, would be a 1-loss team.

Similar rumors have ND coming here for the Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma would be in the national title picture if not for the ref meltdown at Oregon. It doesn't seem those kind of losses count for a whole lot right now.

If your scenario plays out, i can't wait to hear from Gator nation.  Silly

There is no allure for a ND-Michigan rematch. Michigan lit their tits last time they played, what would be the point of a rematch.
An LSU-Michigan game has a lot of intrigue though.

Therein lies the kicker for the Rose Bowl. No way the candle-burners go to Pasadena.
