Former Chilean dictator is still in a very critical state after suffering from a heart attack this weekend. The next hours seem to be critical

I personally don't like to wish anyone their death but I don't know why a man like this still deserves to be living after all the tortures he's done to the people in Chile. The worst is that all charges against him(or almost all) have been dropped due to his poor state of health .

I wonder what the reaction will be like in Chile if he does pass away. People criticize Fidel Casto all the time but for example in the USA he's seen as a hero for delivering Chile from Allende's socialist regime !

I doubt he's seen as a hero in the US anymore, especially since his deeds have become public knowledge.

Dropping those charges was really stupid. Even if he wouldn't live to hear them, they would still serve as symbols for the people of Chile, and would be important part of the reconciliation process.

Cheers
Mats

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

Hopefully he enters a lucid state before death and suffers tremendous pain in his final hours. This man is a human abomination.

That unfortunately is the case for most dictators. I say Good Riddance to him, and stop wasting employees, electricity, medications etc. to keep him alive, use those for ill people that actually deserve to live.
