"6 Feet Under". Why Did They Stop It?

Was 5 years too much? On the one hand it's a good thing because a series like this cannot sustain its quality for eternity, but on the other it's too bad.

Is there other reasons?

Because it was tedious and crap, and all those neurotic hysterical characters needed to just shut up and die. "Dead Like Me" was much better.

I think that five years is about the maximum you can stretch out a drama series. In the case of 6FU, it really began to drag on after the third season or so.

Sort of on topic. Lost should have never gone past one season. I don't think I could even get past the S2 premier.  Embarrassment

Definitely don't agree, many characters had depth and it was well executed. I never watch series, the last series I followed was NYPD blue, my girlfriend introduced this one to me and I must say it was definitely excellent material.

As mentioned, certain shows can only really last for a certain time. I thought 6 Feet Under was okay but I never really made it a must to watch the latest episodes.

I'm a hardcore Sopranos fan (Another HBO production) and also only recently getting into Scrubs. Also a fan of The OC, even if it is super-fictional and makes out that all SoCal people live in huge houses on the coast and drive Range Rovers. I think the story line is still rather quite good!

THAT is a good series - we're years and years behind in France, but I watch it religiously when it's on. |Well written, well acted and interesting to follow.

What season are you currently on in France?

I believe that Season 3 and Season 4 were probably the best. However the modern day Soprano isn't too bad. I can't wait for the follow up to Season 6, I feel there is soo much more that David Chase can do with these characters. I never get tired of the show, which is a lot more than I can say about some other shows!

I don't know, I think the last one I watched was Season 4, where the blonde woman gets dragged into the woods and killed at the end. I haven't seen any episodes since then, but perhaps I haven't been paying attention.

I liked Ade, she was funny. I did laugh when her horrible dog got squished by Christopher though, that was hilarious  rotfl

Yeah she was nice but she ratted them out. Ade and Chris were bad together.

I thought that was hilarious too, I loved what Christopher referred to that dog as... 'That fuckin' pocket rat' !! Big grin

6FU was an awesome series... save season 3 (or was it 4). The acting was incredible... some of the story lines were ridiculous though.

The last episode made me cry.

And Michael C. Hall is so adorable.

I thought this topic should be related to 6 feet under. However, some idiot ended up with theirs discussion on Soprano.

Back to the topic....I love the 6FU series and I had a complete series collection. The season 4 is kind of stretch out a bit and not as good as I thought. But the last season stories are great and pick up with theirs speed.

Point being homegirl? We expressed a common interest in another HBO production.. So what go buy some new lip stick princess.

I think the last few seasons of Six Feet Under were a bit boring, especially because it started to focus too much on Nate and Brenda, though the fact that Nate would die was a true shocker. I did like the series finale, especially the very end.

As for The Sopranos, we're getting close to the season six finale. Is season six the final season or is there going to be a short season seven with a finale?

Rumoured to be a Season 7, but no where near as long as previous seasons. I'm not sure, but as soon as there is more covering this I'll be interested!
