It's a Motorola T720...

The real question is: Why hasn't the FBI knocked your door down yet? What the hell are you searching for?

That Motorola radio with the keypad mic is a little disturbing. Except for the goofy mic, that's what I have in the work car.

It's an older LG, probably from Cingular or Verizon.

This looks very much disturbing:

-Dark glasses
-Food plate on the table
-A shitload of scanners
-Cigaretes
-Bills lying around

Me thinks we have a mafiosi on our hands.

There isn't anything hooked-up to a charger ...

Still, even in the most arid desert is an airport somewhere ...

I don't know about the phone, but I see an Alinco (or Icom) dual-band transciever and a Yaesu VX-1R sitting there with another dual-bander that I'm not able to identify on the right, and since the picture is hosted on a website using an Amateur Radio callsign (W6DEK) that is known for it's...let's say "blacksheep" status within the Ham Radio community in southern California, I'd say somebody is up to no good. Would that be you, "Wardialer"?

I would love to jump on this and say it's him, but alas, this picture has too many things wardialer can't deal with. I have demonstrated time and time again that WD is a hack of a hack of a hack. He wishes his desk looked this cool. The problem is that first of all while WD might smoke, the fact there is an ashtray and left over food disqualifies it as being him. Mommy and Daddy don't tolerate him eating in his room, and even if Mommy and daddy had a CLUE that he smoked, he CERTAINLY would not be smoking in his room. The extent of devices is out of WD's reach as well. Lest you forget WD's idea of wardialing is hacking the local library's TTY line. Amature radio is something his dad might have, but he's not intelligent enough to get through the morse code section of a REAL HAM license. Yes I do know there are HAM licenses without it, but I think you know where I'm going.

Unfortunately the guy I knew personally (Technoid Mutant) whose desk ever looked anything close to this went on to shoot his stepfather and is currently serving a 14 year stretch for said offense. Wardialer might end up on this path, but he's got a long way to go..

W6DEK is most likely the guy's ham radio callsign.

That it is. Went through 3 of them. It's a piece of shit, as is that linksys wireless turd, the oldschool DTMF Motorola 2m keypad/mic, the Sony DirectTV remote, and the 79 cent lighter from the local Stop-and-Rob.

The Cisco UBR is ok, as is the Belkin KVM.

The rest of that shit (including the sunglasses) on that desk leaves something to be desired.

Even the flatware on the nasty-ass leftovers plate is junk.

Honestly, the most quality things on that desk are the Swingline stapler and the pack of Marlboro Reds.

That roll of about 8 bucks in singles doesn't help the coolness factor, either.

Talk about amateur radio...

Mayhap there's some cool stuff outside the frame of the camera such as base gear and a 50' mast?

We can agree to disagree.

If it disturbs you that much why don't you call someone up, or are you just being paranoid cos someone has a few radios. What do you think they're going to do with them??? Maybe listen to them as part of a hobby d'ya think?

Dammit! It's not the size of the mast, it's the motion in the ocean!  Big grin
