Okay so I was just wondering, is there anything healthy about having lemons? I have been on this craze of having a lemon in my water (or sometimes lime) because of the fact that I decided to give up on soda (or pop for our friends on the other side of the USA). I have been for the past 3 weeks now not drinking soda but water with lemon? Do you know if this is necessarly good for me to have a slice of lemon in my glass every day?

Quoting Corey07850 (Reply 1): Seems like people post whatever random thought pops into their head nowadays when they can find an answer in a fraction of the time it takes to even type out the question.

I don't know if it's healthy or not, but I do it. Anytime I usually drink water, I squeeze some lemon juice into there. I've been doing it for about 5 years now. I love the refreshing taste.
Coincidentally, I did it for the same exact reason, to tone down on soda, and now I'm proud to say I've eliminated that carbonated crap from my diet all together.
When I was young, my mom used to macerate lemons in honey when anyone was sick, and give us spoonfuls of the resulting juice. It tasted great, and both lemons and honey are known for their healing powers. She even put a dab of honey on a cut before applying a Band-Aid, something I continue to do to this day.
