I don't think Jen has realized the Pandoras Box she opened by getting me that camcorder.

Anyway, here is a clip of one of my reel to reels playing. This was basically just a "test" video.

Anyone recognize the song?

That is awesome!  yes

I know the song very well but the artist escapes me right now.
My guess would be either; Ocean Blue, The Cure, New Order or Modern English.

The Cure, New Order

Definitely not The Cure and too upbeat for New Order. The key is figuring out the start of the vocals in the end of the clip. I need more time...I might figure this one out.

Then it would have to be Ocean Blue.
I know Matt D is a huge fan of Ocean Blue.

Yep...The Ocean Blue is the band. The song is called "Between Something and Nothing." Just took me a little bit of time to figure it out.

Can't say I recognize the song, but cool reel to reel. Way nicer than mine! I have a 1970s Califone with French and English lettering.

Is there an extended version to YMCA? I know there is one to Macho Man. Once when I was in high school my Buddy Gay Mike came over to a party (he was still in the closet back then) and he brought some records and one was the Macho Man album. I looked at him funny because it was disco and all, but after we were all beered up I played it. Macho man fades into a song that is about being gay or something. I remembered the girls liked it. I also heard it at a night club once too.

Yup. DeltaGator got it.

Thanks Falstaff: I have to say myself that it is a nice deck. Superfly has seen it. Indeed I have a picture of him posing in front of it. Too bad that the quality on those YouTube videos is so damn mediocre. Indeed the motion isn't even steady; the video makes it look like the reels are spinning in a jerking motion when in reality (and on the original video) they are are spinning at steady continuous speed.

Shall I post another?

Reel to Reel tape recorders are out of date old school technology. Get a cassette player. Much more portable.
