Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice on where to spend a few days in late March 2007. I've got that EUR 15 travel voucher that wants to be spent and will hopefully have something to celebrate that time of the year, so I thought I'd find myself a nice cheap airline ticket to some place nice.
That means either Venice or some city far north from me, the main condition being it can be reached non-stop from FRA or nearby on an airline bookable through Opodo. The second condition is that the flight needs to be affordable. So could I please get some advice? I've been to Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Oslo, but only briefly, and I'll definitely spend less than a week so I'll be able to afford it.
Thanks!

1. There will be a A.net Meeting at AMS on April Fool's day.
2. What about Lisbon (Lisboa / Lissabon)? Should be okay weather end of March. I will fly to LIS to explore the city again over the first weekend of March 2007 (Saturday thru Thursday).

Quoting Miamiair (Reply 5): But so darned expensive. Makes London look cheap.
Haven't been to London in about 8 years or so, but wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Oslo
Good luck
I know, I know - but if the flight is €110 all included and I get €15 off, it actually matters. And like I sais, I'd only stay there for a short time so I could afford it. I've been in a restaurant in Oslo, you know.
Quoting KaiGywer (Reply 4): If I was you though, I'd go there in summer, not March.
I would, as the g/f will be on vacation in the summer. But the voucher that sparked this is valid for travel until July 31st and I'll be at uni until at least July 28th.

Right, got a ticket to Helsinki on March 27th and back on the 31st, staying at the HI youth hostel near the port. Off to this thread now! What To Do In Helsinki? (by Avianca Dec 25 2006 in Non Aviation)

I am so envious, all these options with only 15 Euros!
I would go south, is the weather not supposed to be cool in March in the North? Have you been in Rome?

Oh, no need for the envy - those €15 were a reduction, I paid just shy of €105 for the tickets. As for the cold, that's part of why I'm heading North.

Quoting Cedars747 (Reply 11): If you like cold weather,I suggest TROMSØ
Great place, but alas rather on the expensive end. I had a few hours to spend there around Easter 2002 (during a Hurtigruten cruise) and especially loved that mountain in Tromsdalen where people ski with a view of the fjord.
Actually, that memory is part of why Norway is on my "must have lived there for a while before you die" list.
