I still love to watch the BBC documentary series following the life of some of the staff and airport operations at London Heathrow. Is the series still being filmed, and if so, when will the new series be aired? As far as I can see the most recent new series was mid last year, but I am not sure.

Also, why did John Nettles cease to provide the commentary for thisgreat show

I have a bunch of episodes on my DVR. The stopped airing them in the US when Discovery Wings turned in the the Military channel. I would like to catch them all, even though they are an extreme niche show. If I could get SKY here, I would order it just to watch the program.

I don't know if they still film it, and I think several of the people who worked at LHR during the film, don't work in those jobs any more AFAIK.

According to Wikipedia, there are no plans as of yet to film a new series:

I thought the last series was fairly boring - following people chasing illegal cab drivers? Not really aviation, is it...?

I hates Liza Tarbuck's narration- the whole tone of the program seemed completely dummed down and boring,

I have seen "Lagos Airport" on cable at one point it was pretty good, theres also a LAX Airport, "Airline" ( Easyjet ) and if you go for the older series theres "Airline" Brittania.

And I watch them all!

There's another series called Luton Airport or something which surprisingly enough follows people round Luton airport. I think it's only on ITV in London though, as when it was on last my sister got some low budget gardening program on her ITV region, but I may be wrong.

I think that's Airline, which follows the staff of Easyjet. Shown on ITV all around the UK.

There's another series called Holiday Airport which follows staff around airports in foreign places such as Larnaca And Lanzarote (Arreciefe? Los Rodeos?)

I'm thinking of a different series, it's definitely called Luton Airport.. Can't find out much info apart from:

http://www.itvregions.com/London/Programmes/Luton+Airport.htm

which says it's back in 2007.

edit: found this on Luton airport's website which says its also broadcast of Sky Travel: http://www.london-luton.co.uk/en/news.asp?id=135

It went downhill years ago. I haven't bothered to watch it in at least 6 years.

They need to stop doing Airline as well, or at least change the airline from Easyjet to another carrier, though it would still be similar. I don't particularly watch Airline anymore, but I do see it on the TV every now and then, and every series is the same.

Airline was best in the olden days with BY!

No it cant... I practically live there. the most embarassing thing about gatwick are the Chav families taking their 7 kids to "Eye-Bee-Fa" with all that benefit money the DSS give 'em! I'd rather watch big brother...

Infact, they should throw all the chav's into gatwick, lock all the doors and fill the air conditioning ducts with Cyanide Gas...!

There was also a series called Bristol Airport, which I have been watching recently on UKTV. Also Monarch Airlines was on Holiday Airline but they stopped broadcasting it once 9/11 had happened. I think they continued showing it a while after, but Im not to sure.

You're correct, it is indeed on Sky Travel and ITV2 daytime sometimes I think. It deals more with the airside operations of the airport, very interesting!
