Winter Has Arrived

I think that the November snow storm and the December wind storm were pretty good indications that it was already here. This is more along the lines of kicking us in the teeth. I just spent 15 minutes trying to get out of the garage at work, then gave up and came back in.

Our winter didn't really arrive until December 31st. But since then hasn't been really TOO much around here.

Hey Man, our temp raised like 50 degrees in 24 hours. Went from -20 to +30! My truck likes me again and starts without to much hassle. Blizzard out now though. Might have freezing rain, which is the worst thing out there IMO

Smart move, I-90 is all backed up anyway! Mr. Harlot is holing up at work for a while yet...I tried to go to the curling club but decided before I was halfway up my street that I was turning around and coming home. 342 hp, rear wheel drive in snow and ice? I don't think so!  Smile

I think that is the air we are supposed to get in the next 48 hours.

If this El Nino is actually waning that would be one for the record books. El Nino patterns in the past lingered. We shall see. It got cold here in Baltimore, Md. USA for these past 2 days but, the warm stuff returns for the weekend. Supposedly Winter takes center stage next week. We shall see.

I think it ALMOST arrived today in GSO. Our low was in the mid 20's this morning. High was about 45 or 46. Not quite "winter" for this part of the year, but it's getting there, though I head back to Florida on Saturday where "cold" is anything beginning with a 6 and "freezing" is anything beginning with a 5.

I finally left the office at 6:45P, took back roads to 405, then actually made decent time over the 520 bridge, took me 1:15 to make it all the way, normally takes me 20 minutes. Glad the Mr. made it safely, I can't believe the number of abandoned cars in ditches I passed.

BTW, got over the bridge, not even an inch of snow, streets were wet but solid (no ice), etc. Once again, seems the Eastside is taking the brunt of it!
