What Is The Shaft And Where Does It Go?

I've seen this pic in a number of threads in my short time here on airliners.net.

Pardon my ignorance, but I was wondering what its significance is and why people choose to use it in some threads, but not in others. It usually appears in a malicious manner, esentially telling someone, "You're a clown."

So I post the question: What is "the shaft" and where does it go?

As one half of the shaft originator, the "Shaft" is a playful jokingly way to say perhaps a certain thread is less than adequate. Or maybe just a single post. Or maybe just a user gets the shaft for such things as self-glossing ones own birthday, or how many posts they have, or how long they have been around here...you know, things nobody cares about. Things like that get the shaft. This thread does not, because it is of the highest quality. Great question Mcringring.

It basically goes wherever the hell someone (specifically KROC) feels like there's a dumbass comment or something similar...sorry for being blunt.

 Big thumbs up

For a perfect example of a thread that would get the shaft, and already did once, look no further than the "TWFirst NG Volume II" thread.

I get it... thanks for not shafting me!! Now I have an accurate way of determining which threads are worthless, since the rating system doesn't seem to work that well, at least in identifying threads I would be interested in.

 Big thumbs up

How a "TWFirst NG Volume II" thread stays around is beyond be, because its of a personal nature, of which could be handled through email. This violates Johan's rules, but who am I to argue. Matter of fact, the TWFirst NG thread is due for another shaft. Be back later.

Hey KROC, the TWfirst volumes are a forum within a forum they've been around for a long time, and Johan tolerate them because any immature or stupid thing somone want to say goes in the TWFirst volume, and not in the other threads. Basically it's a stupid remark catch-all and it's fun!!!

You should participate!!  Big grin

Aloha 737-200!!  Wink/being sarcastic (That's for all your help KROC, I appreciate it, I mean that.)

No problem Aloha. As for the TWFirst forum within a forum, I was into them a few times, but the whole thrill of them is gone, and now they are full of posts with people begging to keep them going. THey were great while they lasted, but they should go fade away and take there place in Airliner.net forum history.

"Shaft" a.k.a. penis is instered into the females "parts" during sexual intercourse. Maybe you should ask your daddy where the shaft goes, or your mom for that matter.

MalibuAir.....In my description, there was no sexual conotation of the shaft. Perhaps we should get our mind out of the gutter.....

The shaft is kind of KROC's trademark. He was given the name KROTCH not too long ago...
