Driving.
Up into redwood country to pick up several thousand very old negatives for scanning and archiving.
No flying. Might never again. Don't know.
Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

Apart from the rare and interesting aircraft, I will get to see Damascus and the citadel at Aleppo whilst in Syria, then I move on to Jordan and Amman where I will also travel down to Petra to see the city carved into the gorge. After that I will go to Beirut, I wanted to see it before the war, but it will be interesting to see what has happened to it.

Shall be heading first to JNB to see fellow A.netter Birdwatching after his most kind offer, then to CPT for a few days before slowly working my way back up to Kenya, mainly on the trains but I wouldn't turn down a few flights if the option is available at a reasonable price. I was hoping to get right up into Kenya, see Kilimanjaro, but I realise I will probably not have enough time, so I think I shall save that for another trip and spend longer in Tanzania. Zimbabwe also is dependant on the political and economic situation of the country. Hopefully shall be the trip of a lifetime! Several of the trains are two or three day journeys, through the countryside, so hopefully it will give me an opportunity to see some of the wildlife. Still have to finalise and book a lot of the inter-Africa flights, some can be booked on the day at no extra cost, so I think that might be best.
Iceland
08.04.2007 London Gatwick -- Keflavik ... British Airways ... Boeing B737-400
16.04.2007 Reijavik -- Vagar (Faroe Islands) ... Air Iceland ... Not Sure; F50/146
20.04.2006 Vagar (Faroe Islands) -- Copenhagen ... Air Atlantic ... Avro RJ100
Hoping to add several internal flights; possibly a Landsflug D228, or AirIceland Dash8-100 as I would like to visit the Westman Islands and perhaps see the scenery from above. I was aiming to camp, but I have a back problem which currently prevents me from getting up off the floor easily, so I might have to take a rain check on that! I'm in Iceland for the A.net KEF meet, others will leave on the morning of the 13th, I'll leave in the evening and fly down to the Faroe Islands for several days, I thought I might as well add these into the trip, Air Iceland down and then I was due to be flying FaroeJet onto CPH, but they went bust so I was transferred to Air Atlantic. Then I shall take either EZY to STN, or SN to BHX, just in time for the start of my next university term.
Ambitious plans I know, but I think it shall all be worth it!
First Trip planned is to Vegas in March, Keflavik in April, Barbados in May. June/July/August, i'm taking a break from travelling. September/October is for 2 flyaway GP's in Japan & China. New York in November as always and Manchester for Christmas & New Year.
