Anyone else suffering from this disease? For the first Sunday since August, I'm not in front of my TV watching games. This sucks!!
Why is it that the NBA season starts in October and doesn't finish until June? That's 9 months of fricken basketball but us football fans only get 5 months? Heck, even the NHL has a longer season!
Oh well, there's one big game left next weekend and since I don't like Payton Manning, and can't think of anyone on the Bears that I particularly dislike, I guess I'll be cheering for Chicago.

Go Bears!
Aloha,
HALFA

It's alright, just drink some beers and take it one day at a time.

Oh, GO BEARS!

I feel the same way since the Chargers lost back on the 14th... It's weird to not watch them every Sunday, especially since we finally have cable in our house.

Plus, it brings back memories of that day 2 weeks ago when I was on my very first 777 flight (UA, ORD-LAX) and I heard the fateful news- Patriots 24, Chargers 21.

To be 100% honest, I just learned that the super bowl was happening here pretty soon. So not to much american football withdrawal from me, however the summer I do suffer from a lack of hockey.

This sucks!!

Tell me about it!

I'm not sure if the players can handle more than 5 months... they get pretty beat up by december.
For example my Browns had less than 45 players in uniform for their last game against the Texans.... the rest of the players were on IR.

If one of your sports channels show it, you could watch the NFL Europe during the NFL season break.  Wink

That being said, a sunday without NFL is for me like a saturday without the Premier League and/or Bundesliga. There's something missing then.

Can't wait for Super Sunday next week, when Rex Grossman will kick Peyton Manning's ass.  bigthumbsup

I could care less the NFL season is coming to a close. I'm missing college football more than anything! I always hate January to late August. The only news I get to hear about is who signed a letter of intent to come play at OSU  Sad

Oh well! College baseball is officially begun! Oregon State and Hawaii Hilo just played a four game series to officially kick off the college baseball season, and Oregon State swept the 4 game series! 4-0 heading to play at Georgia beginning in the 8th or 9th of February for 3 games. The title defense has began, and they look great this year.

OSU threw a no-hitter the very first game of the season. Four pitchers I believe combined for the no-no.

I guess, but my college team (Hawaii) isn't doing so well, and we don't play day games here. Today I was so bored, I actually watched golf. Yes, fricking golf!! What next, bowling?

I may have to. I'm sure it beats watching golf.

Before you get too excited, the Hilo Vulcan's are not exactly a baseball powerhouse. But nevertheless, congrats on winning the championship last season, and your Beavers are starting to piss me off btw. First, they knock Hawaii out of the baseball regionals, then your football team beats us and knocks us out of the top 25. Hope our football teams cross paths again soon.

Because basketball is five guys bouncing a ball around an inside court without ever hitting the floor unless they fall  Smile Doesn't take as much as football

You don't have to wait long. It's a home and home series. Washington dumped the series with you guys, and we took it. Best decision our AD made. But of course in September we thought it was the dumbest thing he could have done...  Smile Anyway, we've gotten a bunch of recruits from the islands, no doubt due to our win there. I believe the Warriors come to Corvallis this next season. Gonna come watch?  Smile

That's like watching a idiot try to hump a doorknob. There is a reason they aren't in NFL America and it isn't because the comish wants to spread out the talent.

The NBA thats a 97% waste of time. But the hockey playoffs are that far away, probably the most exciting playoffs in north american sports.

We owned that game, but the stupid mistakes cost us dearly. They didn't win, we lost it. However, still proud of my Chargers for having a damn good season (14-2, all sorts of records broken, 10 pro-bowlers, etc.)

Honestly though, that defeat was good for them, as it shown the players they had a little bit of growing up to do.

Next season is going to be tough, we play some tough teams both away and home.

Earth? Well at least the early 1980s.

Well, we had it back in the late '90s to about '01, when we moved from SD. Then it took 5 years for me to finally convince my dad, who hates TV, to finally get it back. We have Time Warner Digital Cable now, and I have basic in my room, which I never expected in a million years... so I'm happy.

Yeah, we did have a kickass season. I'm happy for how we did, but honestly, I think what happened in the game is that the luck we had all season (if you look back, we had some supremely lucky breaks) finally turned against us when that interception was stripped from McCree...

But my confidence in Marty is definitely shaken after that game. I just don't know anymore, it seems like he can get us to the playoffs but can't close the deal. I just don't want San Diego to be known as the city who gets its teams (the Padres too) into the first round and then get their asses kicked.

Really, Marty made 2 mistakes that I can recall:

1) That 4th and 11 in the 1st quater (WTF Marty?!)

2) Using that so-called challenge and all time-outs before the 2 minute warning in the 4th.

Everything else was the players. (Florence, McCree, Jammer just to name a few.)

Unfortunately, all these added up to us loosing the game, but its ok, we are just starting to get into our prime.
