This is a question that commonly comes into people's head. Which sport should become olympic? Many a people have said rugby, polo should become olympic. more recently squash has been applying for the 2012 olympics
I'd therefore wanted to start a thread concerning which sport should become olympic and which you think have the best chances....cheers

The message you were about to post is too short and probably not of any higher value to the topic at hand. You should think long and hard before posting a message in this forum and make it detailed and a valuable addition to the topic discussed.

Roller (AKA in-line) hockey. If it were to become an Olympic sport, some of the national teams could potentially have NHL players on them, as some of them have played in various roller hockey leagues since many of them operated in the summer. In some areas, roller hockey is become quite popular and the demand for roller hockey rinks is beginning to be up there with ice hockey rinks.
This is the team sport with the largest worldwide following that is missing. Besides it's only right that the true rugby powers get a chance to claim the title, the USA are the reigning gold medalists having won it in the early 1900s the last time it was cotnested at the games.

Bowling. They gave it a shot in 1992 (I think it was), and I'm not really sure why it didn't work out. There's plenty of foreign guys on the PBA Tour like Amleto Monacceli and Mika Kovunimi.

I think the debate should be which sports can we eliminate from the Olympics. I'm sure that there would be a whole host of suggestions that would pop up.

Quoting FighterPilot (Reply 16): It's funny because I've done that before. I'm not very good at the curling part, but decent when it comes to beer drinking.
Maybe beer drinking, and pole dancing? Could we combine them? Id love to see the uniforms.

Baseball, after they get rid of it following the '08 Olympics. It's ridiculous that it was voted out.

Agreed, 100%...it is far more worthy than some of the "sports" that are still in.

And get all the damn professional athletes out of the games. I don't want to see The Rocket, LeBron, or any other professionals out there. Get the amateurs, the college players, the people who play for the right reasons! Can I get an amen from the congregation?

Quoting Speedbird747BA (Reply 2): Rugby would make a good olympic sport. Curling should be taken out, IMO.
What? Ones a summer sport and ones a winter. By the way, keep curling. That sport is pretty awesome! I always watch it when its on and even tryed playing a few times
Quoting FlyDeltaJets87 (Reply 21): That's stupid. Is there even another international tournament for baseball?
It is stupid that baseball is being taken out. The only other baseball tournament that is international is the World Baseball Classic which started last year and will be every 4 years IIRC.
