LGW North Terminal - Hotel Recommendations

Hi,
My wife will be travelling to Geneva on BA's early flight from LGW 10 April.

Can anyone recommend/suggest a 'reasonably' priced hotel near to airport (North Terminal). I've done some searching on the web and found that Gatwick extends as far as East Grinstead, which is not really a 'short shuttle', particularly for a early morning flight.

Not looking for mod-cons, just clean, close and a shuttle. Personal experience appreciated!
