Ladies and gentlemen, this is now my 1000th post on airliners.net. For those who don't know me, I am a licensed pilot from Seattle (sorry, I am not from Svalbard) who mostly hangs around trip reports, polls and prefs, and occationally slips into nonav and civav. 528 (an average of 1.893939 posts per day) days after joining that morning of September 2nd, 2005, and this site has been wonderful. I love all the 1.2 million pictures, all the unique people, and aviation as a whole. So here's to 1000 more, and let's hope at least one of them has some substance in it!
That is a fuel sump, which allows me to drain fuel from each tank to check for water (it is heavier than gas, so the water falls straight to the bottom of the tank). One more post for 1000, big man! Maybe your own self-gloss thread? Thanks to everyone for your "thoughtful" replies.
