Well, I've only been to two Tropical destinations

1. Cuba
2. Trinidad (not the city in Cuba, but the Country)

I haven't been to Trinidad in over a decade, and I'm told it has changed a lot.
I'd love to see for myself some day soon.

As for other Tropical places I'd like to see

Aruba
Guyana
Tobago

Just two for me.

1. Cairns, Australia - Great Barrier Reef diving was great and the gondola and train ride through the tropical rainforest was spectacular. Although touristy not over the top and although some of the tourist stuff is expensive it actually felt like it was worth it. I think I will try and head somewhere else in tropical north Queensland sometime this winter.

2. Oahu, Hawaii - Warm weather was great, the Arizona memorial was good but a lot of stuff is just to rip off tourists - Dole Pineapple Plantation, a dinner cruise we took which included Pacific Island dances - I was really impressed by their "authentic" Maori dancing... not. The other thing I didn't particularly was the traffic jams on the H1, something you want to avoid while on holiday. If If I was to go back to Hawaii I would go to a quiter island, probably Kaua'i to check out the Waimea Canyon, which I think would be less for the mass tourist market (?)

I would really like to go to Micronesia (not sure quite where yet), the Seychelles, the Maldives, and Tahiti.

Bali. Oh, sorry, different point of view.

Seriously, I lived in FL many years and fail to see what's so special about the Keys.

As far as my list, it includes Roatan, Cartagena, and Bali. Esp Bali since I can get top quality DVDs for less than US$1!

Cheers,
Coal

You lived in Florida for many years, but did you actually visit the Keys during that period? And if so, what part(s)?
