For those familiar with renting vehicles at O'Hare, are any of the major companies easier or more convenient than the others? For what it's worth, I'll be staying at the Marriott O'Hare if any particular companies are more convenient to that location. Thanks.

If i remember correctly most if not all of the major car rental companies are in the same vicintiy. There is a train or some type of automated system that takes you to the car rental area. If you have ever been to JFK or ORD, Chiacgo ORD is similiar.

Not at ORD. You have to take the rental agency's shuttle to the appropriate lot, which are all near, but off, the airport property. When you sign the agreement, they give you a map on how to get back to that lot.

I am here as we speak. I used Avis the first week but switched to Hertz after I found out that I could get extra miles from UA Milage Plus. All the rental car agencies are a shuttle ride from the terminal. None are within walking distance.
On your deathbed you'll receive total consiousness- so I've got that going for me.

Off topic but do you realize you have to pay a surcharge for getting points on your FF when renting a car?

The major car rental agencies are on airport property even though they are far away from the terminals. Some of the smaller ones are off property.

The automated train is on an elevated track which runs above the car rental area on its way to the long term lot. However there is no station at the rental car area. You have to take the car rental's shuttle bus to the rental car area.

Well, if that's the case, then Enterprise is the biggest "small" lot I've ever seen.

Either way, it's still a whole lot of trouble to get to. It's hard to believe that the two biggest airports in the US, ORD and ATL have such painful processes to rent cars. LHR is just as bad... This is one area that all of these big airports could really improve.

To directly answer the question, the convenience of all of them is more or less the same. And yes, all are a pain in the butt.

Wrong.
You have to take a shuttle bus from the passenger arrival area to the rental company. They're about 3 miles from the terminal. Shuttle service is a major inconvenience, but relatively quick.
Worked for too many airlines to list. Banktupcy after bankruptcy after bankruptcy.

Where in Chicago are you going from ORD? If you are going into the city, take the train. Unless you are going into the 'burbs, a car is more hassle than it is worth in Chicago, and you'll pay a ton to park it, even at the Marriott.
