LAX or MDW? (this should be in the avaition photography forum)
I live near MDW and I take pictures at MDW and it's nice to see planes over there. LAX is nice too but it's kinda hard to go over to the fence because of the police can tell you to leave. At MDW it's more like there is a sidewalk around the airport and some places a fence and the police can't bother you. If you want to see my pictures I made there here is the site
http://photos.yahoo.com/miranova42 What I would say is they are both nice to go take photos.

For variety, LAX is best by far, but for accessibility, MDW would be easier. It's a trade-off.

MDW has better accesibilty to the runways and if you stand on the corner of 63rd and Cicero you can take pretty good shots of planes in the air too! Also on the corner of I think 54th or 55th and Central you'll have a good view of Runway 31 and Runway 13.

I haven't really fully explored all of the spotting sites at MDW but it seems pretty easy to navigate around the place.

Of course, you won't any heavies at MDW (compared to LAX) other than ATA's 757, which you'll probably see one of per hour.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

LAX used to be very easy to spot at. There were numerous spots that you could take great pictures at although you needed a car. And the variety of airlines and aircraft is awesome there. Nowadyas there aren't as many spots due to security restrictions, but you can still get some good shots in.

MDW is of course a lot smaller and easier to navigate. You don't really need to get a car to get around and you can get some pretty decent pictures there. Only thing is you'll have to sit there while an endless stream of Southwest aircraft go by.

Hey CactusA319, I still have your email about spotting at MDW from a while ago. Haven't been there recently other than to drop someone off. The last time I was there was towards the end of the summer on a spur of the moment spotting trip with my boy from Milwaukee. It's been a while. My last spotting target though was LGA where I got kicked out of the fences about 20 times and eventually had to leave for good. > Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Anyway hiya been?
