Donald rules! This is my favorite quote

"They say they want to be martyrs....., well we are trying to help them!"

Thank you!

Someone else noticed this little jewel as well? I'm a total conservative... but even I smacked my head when I heard him say it. Where else could he be? Well... possibly international waters in a boat???  Insane

*sigh* one to add to the list of stupidest things ever said...

Thats the problem with reporters.

Half them don't even realize when the Sec. of Defense is insulting them...

They deserve it too. For asking stupid questions.

I'm certain I heard a few of the press corps suppress a giggle.

Rumsfeld is an original. And he is the best person to be running the U.S. defense establishment. Anyone who does not realise this is an idiot.

Scotty, I heard that too. Rumsfeld even had a big sarcastic grin on his face when he said it and some still were clueless enough to not get it. (no offense to anyone in here that also thought he was serious)

Donald Rumsfeld is not only the best man for the job, you gotta admit he is pretty funny. Don't need to watch Comedy Network-- just flip to C-SPAN when the SecDef is giving a press conference at the Pentagon.  Big thumbs up

I don't like his politics, but Rumsfeld is known for having a dry sense of humour, whether deploying it against a bunch of press muppets is a good idea is another question.
Cannot see the Washington press corps being receptive to irony somehow.
