Personally, I think alimony is a crock anyway. The article doesn't mention child support, so I'm assuming the alimony is spousal support. In which case, the receiver of that support should get of his/her ass and a get a job rather than sponging off of someone you were married to for 18 years.
It begs the question, if the lady-boy needs $1,250 a month from his/her ex-husband, how on did he/she pay for the procedure?
YES!! All these years I thought I was alone in this sentiment.
Quoting EWRCabincrew (Reply 3): The sex change does not change the fact they were married. Divorce is divorce.
That's not the issue:
Quote: "My client did not agree to pay a man alimony," said one of Roach's attorneys, John McGuire, at Tuesday's hearing. "He agreed to pay a woman alimony, and when she changed to a man I believe she terminated that alimony."
Completely agree. At one point, when the vast majority of women were entirely dependent on their spouse, I could see it, but not today. There may be limited occasions where it applies, but my understanding is its still pretty common, no matter the financial condition of the wife.
