The Moroccan capital Casablanca saw the death of two suicide-bombers -one killed by the police, the second blew himself up last night in an apartment-building.
The existence of radical Islamic fanatics in Morocco has been a well kept secret for many ...
The country fears impact on it's economy life-line,tourism, should the number of radical Islamic fanatics raise and commit suicide attacks in places like Marrakesh ,Agadir or Fez.
While the casual visitor will not necessarily feel the discrepancy between very rich and very poor, the stance among many Moroccans towards arrogant real-estate owners, buying properties at ridiculous prices and penalizing locals therefore,is hostile.
I do hope it's an isolated event, but local politicians better watch out and cut sickening habits by some overseas-residents.

OK, so I buy a second home in Morocco, and I want it looked after which means I need the services of perhaps a maid, pool man, gardener etc. Local restaurants and businesses get my custom whilst there. More investment = more money = more jobs. I've heard this dumb-ass arguement before here in the Algarve about foreigners buying and locals can't afford to etc etc. If you open your country to foreign investment / property ownership these are the results.
Breakfast in BHX, lunch in FAO, dinner in TIP, baggage in YYC.

I don't think that most Moroccans are against foreigners residing in their country, which has a great sens of hospitality.
Most employees in hotels ,restaurants and real-estate enterprises welcome the flux of revenue and rise in living-standards.
But there is a second, hidden side tied the presence of certain type of residents, which is usually never spoken of in media.
Unfortunately a certain amount of pedophile sick and perverted foreigners abuse Moroccan children -specially in Marrakesh- where rich and less-rich take advantage of under-payed child labour to buy sex-slaves.
Some Moroccan associations try to address the issue but unfortunately hideous law-enforcment circles play it hush-hush,in order not to stir up the issue.
Second black point are the ever increasing prices for anything in tourist-areas in Morocco, penalizing locals who try to access property but can't considering foreigners spoiling the fair market-value of property into levels much too high for the locals.
A third person killed himself this evening in Casablanca (he blew up an explosive belt, killing himself and wounding bystanders..)
I'm afraid this is just the tip of the ice-berg...
